We had gotten so much media attention for announcing our relationship it was insane. I couldn't go anywhere without getting recognized by a fan of Shawn's. I didn't even have to be with him, I would still be asked if I was his girlfriend. One time, a fan talked to me and not Alessia when she and I were hanging out together.

It was December. I was towards the end of my 1st trimester, I wasnt showing a lot just yet, but I had formed a small bump that was pretty easy to hide.

Today, Alessia and I were going to ny three month appointment. We were Chile. It was kind if weird not going to the same doctor each appointment, but all I cared about was that my baby was healthy. It was also getting harder to go into the doctor because more people knew who I was. Alessia's tour manager was amazing at sneaking me in though.

"River" A doctor says. Alessia and I walk back into the exam room. I got on the table and let her do her thing. "You're 12 weeks?".

"Yes, ma'am" I say.

"I have to ask this next question just because it's a rule. Is the father in the picture?" She says. I had never been asked that before, but usually Shawn always tried to come with me. He wasn't with me today, because he was doing press.

"Yes. He is" I say. She smiles.

"Well, you two are going to have a beautiful baby in a few months. You can pick up your picture out front" She says. I got off the table and went to the front..I got the pictures then we walked out of the doctor's office.

"You know, the show isn't until later. Let's shop around" Alessia says. I knew what she was up too. She had seen a baby store a few stores down.

"We can't baby shop" I say. She makes an angry face at me.

"Then we wont buy anything. We can just look around. That's not going to hurt anything" She says. I sigh.

"Fine. Lead the way" I say. She grabs my arms and I practically fly to through the air. We walk inside. I was immediately overwhelmed.

"Can you believe you get to buy all this stuff for the baby!" She chirps.

"No. No, I can't" I say.

"Oh, this is so exciting" She says.

"That's easy for you to say" I say following her over to the baby girl section.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

"You're not the one having the kid" I say. I didn't realize how aggressive I sounded.

"I...didn't mean anything by it" She says.

"I know. I'm sorry. It's just I'm nervous" I say.

"Riv, you're going to be an amazing mother. It'll be hard at times, but nothing you can't handle" She says. She always knew how to reassure me pretty well.

"I won't be able to do it without you. You know that, right?" I ask. She nods.

"I'll be right there through everything" She says. I smile. "As long as you name it after me".

"Well, who knows if it will be a girl" I say. We began to walk out of the store.

"I have a feeling, and I'm never wrong" She says.

"I don't have a preference as long as it's healthy" I say. She laughs.

"That's what everyone says, but usually they have a preference" She says.

"Maybe some do, but I really don't. It's hard to even think about calling myself a mother, so it's definitely weird saying 'my daughter's or 'my son', but I'll get used to it" I say.

"This baby will probably grow yo thinking I'm it's aunt" She says.

"Probably. You and Dallas can fight over who the favorite aunt is".

"We all know it's going to be me" She says. I laugh.

"This baby is going to love you" I say.

"I hope so. This baby doesn't realize how lucky it is. A mom like you. A dad line Shawn. A boy or girl, it's going to be the luckiest little thing in the world" She says.

"I hope it feels that way" I say.

"It will. There's no one better than you" She says. We smile at each other. I thought my baby was pretty lucky to have Alessia in their life. I wasn't going to let her know that yet though.
