It Started with a Wedding

Trapped in time

Julian's side of the story        

He's just staring at the woman on the television screen. She really look pretty on that wedding dress and he's really happy standing next to her on the altar. They're exchanging vows in front of everyone. It's clear that he chose her but he just can't bring himself to believe it.

He's not feeling anything right now while looking at this woman he married. Not a single recognition that could make him feel connected to her. She's a total stranger. He had been watching these videos and the others they took together but none was of help. Then his eyes focuses on the other woman on the screen. It's Sandy. She's smiling and yet there's the loneliness in her eyes. He could say how hurt she was. How is it possible that he didn't notice that then? He caused her so much pain by marrying another woman and being happy in front of her. He closed his eyes tightly and and clench his jaws together. You're a fool! His mind accused him. He decided to leave that house because he feel suffocated with all those unfamiliar things that claims to be his life before the accident. He was supposed to be comfortable with the home he used to share with Helene but like that woman, anything inside means nothing to him.         

He find himself here at his old school. The place that cover most of the memories he has. He entered his former classroom. It is empty and silent. He sits to his old spot.       

“Julian Choi....”   He was surprise to see her on the seat next to him.   

“Lend me your Math notebook...let me copy some of your answers.....” She whispers while looking at the teacher in front.  

“Surely Mr. Kang will scold me if I couldn't answer a problem correctly....why aren't you answering? Aren't you going to lend me your homework? Aishh....have it all you want...remember that this will be the last time I'll ask for a favor from you.” Irritation is now on her voice.

Sandy is like that. Math is her weak point and she's a bit abusive when it comes to asking favors regarding it. Something he likes because she get to rely on him a lot. He smiles as he looks at her. How he miss those times with her. Times that it's only Sandy and him and no Jared Kim around.     

“You still have the guts to smile like that? You're very cruel!” she complained with the annoyed expression on her face. Julian reached out his hand to touch her face but it only went through her.  

It makes him feel trap in time in which he's not a member of the time zone he's in. He belongs on this moment...when they are secretly in love with each other.

Sandy's side of the story      

Sandy just went out of the office and her phone rang.     

“Are you on your way home?” Jared is still checking on her from Busan.  

“Yup. I just came out of the office.”  

“How's work today?”  

“Quite busy. How about you?”  

“Just finishing one of the projects and I'll go home too...Are you on the bus stop now?”  

“I'll take a cab home so don't worry..” She heard him sighed in relief on the other  line. A car parked in front of you and Julian came out.  

“Jared, I'll just get myself a taxi and I'll call you back.”  

“Alright.”        

“What are you doing here?” She said after she's done with the phone.  

“Let's talk.” he said.  

“I don't think you got my point the last time. I told you that I wouldn't want to see you unless you put yourself together.”  

“I know..but no matter what I'll do I can't stop myself from wanting to see you...Please don't ask me to go away.” he said in a pleading tone.  

“What do you expect me to do? You gave me no choice...”   “I know I'm being stubborn but this is what I feel...”  

“Julian, listen to me...whatever we felt before, it was just a part of the past. We both moved on  with our lives so just accept that this is what we are now.”  

“I wish it would be as easy as that...every time I close my eyes, it is you that I see and I can't do anything about it..”  

“Julian...Helene doesn't deserve this...If you can't remember her at least respect her.....”      

He tried to stop her from leaving but she pulls her arm away from him. Sandy doesn't feel good from doing this but she think its what he needed for now. She is getting tired of it.    

“Stay away from me..” It hurts her to see the pain in his eyes but she left him anyway.

 Julian's side of the story        

 “Stay away from me.”       

Her cold expression and tone are still fresh on his mind. His heart is breaking for losing the only woman he cares about. She doesn't want him anymore and she could be happy without him. She has no idea how much he needs her right now. Incomplete memory, shattered heart, losing a friend, and being a complete stranger to his own life. He feel like his head is going to explode and he  wants to put an end to all of these. He wants to forget...he wants to shut his feelings so he won't get hurt anymore.       

Sleep....hopefully he won't have to deal with all of these if he's asleep....

Sandy's side of the story        

“Omma..” The meeting just ended. Sandy checked on her phone and see her missed calls so she called back.  

“Thank God you called.”  

“I just got out of the conference room. What is it?”  

“Have you heard from Julian?”     Her eyebrows furrowed. The last time he appeared in front of her was around two days ago.  

“Nope...we haven't talked yet.”  

“His mom is very worried because she couldn't reach him. He's been gone for  a week now and he didn't call his mom yet.”  

“Julian has a lot of things to think about right now..It'll be good if Auntie would give him time. I'm sure he'll show up one day.”   

“I know that however your aunt is really worried. She's afraid that something might happen to him  again.” her mom's voice shows the same.      

Sandy's parents are now aware of the problem between them. It's just good that they chose not to interfere with your matters. However, they still worry for each one of them. She stops walking and breathe out.    

“Alright. I'll try to contact him so tell auntie not to worry.”  

“Yes. Call me right away once you talk to him.”  

“Okay. Bye.”
