Her Story

Sandy's side of the story:

             “Congratulations!” everyone greets her in the office. Office staffs and other writers are there clapping.

            “Congratulations Ms. Sandy Shin for another hit! The feedbacks are positive and the sales   have already exceeded our expectation.” The editor-in-chief told her.

            “Thank you so much!” she bows in front of everyone. “I couldn’t do it without you guys".  she added.

            “Treat us for dinner with your bonus Sandy!” one of your officemate said.

            “Can I take a rain check? I have plans already…Don’t worry, I’ll treat you all for dinner tomorrow.” she says to them. She grabs her purse and headed out.

            My name? Sandy Shin. 24 yrs. old. Occupation: Writer known as Summer. The theme of my novels? Romance. I received a lot of compliments from people saying that they like my stories. I got recognitions and I’m also blessed with followers. So far, I was able to publish ten books. Others said that I could touch the hearts of the readers through my works. Some are curious to know if my stories are base on real events. If my characters had counterparts? Well, it depends..some are yes but mostly no..They even speculate that my works are reflection of my own love life…..

            She's standing in front of a bakeshop when a car stopped in front of her.

            “Sandy, hop in.” the handsome guy with cute dimples called her.

            “I told you that I could pick you up on your office” he said while she is  busy putting on her seatbelt. Siwon sighed and he decided to help her with it.

            “It’s because of this.” Sandy gently wave the small box in front of his face.

            “Muffins?Wah…my best friend really has a big stomach!” Julian said smiling.

           

            “I’m sure you haven’t eaten well again” brushing off his teasing.

She got one and put it in front of his mouth.

            “Driving..” Sandy already know this attitude..he’s being a child again and wants her to feed him. So she feed him the muffin.

            “Hmmm….Maybe the gown won’t fit you later because of this” Julian said to her while chewing.

            “What did you say?!”

            “Did someone say that my best friend won’t fit on that gown?!You want me to sue him? Tell me, who’s that jerk?” Julian said exaggeratedly. Both of you burst into laughter.

Like a romance novel..there’s a handsome leading man and a cute leading lady..but let me clear it..he’s not my boyfriend. Julian Choi, my childhood best friend. My first love and take note, Secret First Love. I have a fruitful career but a zero love life. I think that life, you can’t have it all. Who would know that the romance writer Summer is a Sandy loser when it comes to her own love life? Ironic isn’t it? I know how to create a good story but can’t fix my own. Here’s the thing, he’s getting married with his girlfriend since college, Helene Park. Even though we grew up together he still fell for her. Don’t get me wrong, Helene is my friend too. Actually, I was the one introduced her to Julian. We were classmates on a subject back in college. He loves her. She loves him so where should I place myself there? They’re the lead characters and I’m the secondary character in my own story.
