Sandy's side of the story

“Not only that, tomorrow we’re going downtown…there are much more good places here that I want to show you.” aunt Alicia says to her while putting a slice of cake into the plates.

They just arrived from the shopping district. Aunt Alicia and Allyson brought her there. She enjoyed shopping and looking around.

Now the three of them are at the garden having tea and cakes.

“I’ve been in Busan before but I wasn’t able to look around much. Please guide me well aunt.” she says.

“Unni, next time we should go to the beach. The weather is good for swimming”. Allyson suggests.

“That’s a good idea..we’ll go next time.” she answers. Sandy and Allyson are getting along well. She had been here for two days and they already had a good bond. She’s a sweet girl and she really see her as a younger sister since she never had one.

“I hope you understand Allyson. She’s so excited to have you here. She’s always stuck in this house with me” aunt said in a calm tone.

“It’s really okay with me since I always wished to have a sister and it’s good to have one here”. Sandy says as she smile to Allyson. They continued chatting while Allyson is busy reading a book. Sandy noticed that the book she’s reading is the book that she wrote.

“She likes reading romance novels...especially the novels of that author Summer.”

“Oh, I remember you’re a writer too right?” aunt suddenly ask making Allyson pause from reading and looks at you.

“Really, Unni?! What kind of books do you write?”

            “Romance novels…”

            “Like my favorite author, Summer!”

            “Really, you like her?”

“Of course! I collected all of her books and I read them all.”

“So, what can you say about this new novel?” she curiously asks.

“Well, the story is refreshing. The main characters are both interesting. I like the fact that the heroine is quite strong when it comes to her emotions. Even though her heart was broken a lot times, still she believes that there would be that person for her and she’s very independent. Totally different from the other characters that she created in the past” she watch her with amazement. She’s a fan indeed.

            “So what’s your favorite novel?”

“I like all of it but this one is really intriguing. Different from the others..I have a feeling that the main character will not be with the person she loves in the end…” Sandy can’t help but smile as she see Allyson pouting her lips.

“This novel focuses on being confident about oneself without relying much on someone. Sometimes, we come to the realization that having that feeling doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be together or end up together. You could have love in your heart even being apart with that person.”
