Julian's side of the story
The sun will be setting soon but he’s not losing hope. She’ll come for sure….
Today is Helene’s death anniversary and he came with his mom, Helene’s sister, and Sandy’s parents. Sandy is the only one missing. He sent the others home just a while ago.
He knows that she will definitely come. He’s a bit nervous with the thought of seeing her again but he’s confident that he could do well now. He still loves her but he already accepted in his heart that they are not meant to be together. He exerted a great effort in moving on. He focused in getting himself back on the track. Also, he decided to get to know the woman he married. He watched all of their videos together and did a lot of stuff that could show him what kind of person she was. He find himself getting amazed by this woman as he get to know her. There were a lot of things that makes her interesting. His admiration for his late wife gets deeper and deeper each day. He could now understand why he falls for her and ends up marrying her. Too bad he didn’t have the chance to meet her again after waking up on that hospital. He still couldn’t remember anything but he doesn’t think he needs it anymore. There might be a reason as to why he lost it and he decided not to sulk around because he doesn’t have the memory of his past. He’ll just live by moving forward with a positive outlook in life.
Then a car stopped in a distance and Sandy came out of it. She looks at Julian as she walks towards him.
Sandy's side of the story
The two of them embraced. This is the first time they see each other after seven months. Then she put down the flowers she brought in front of Helene’s marble tomb stone together with some other flowers. She offered a prayer for her soul and talk to her for a little while.
“Just as I thought, you’ll come…” He said as they sat together.
“Just a bit late….”
“I see that you drive now…” Then he looks out for her car.
“Yeah….that’s my baby…” she said smiling.
“Then it’s payback time for those times that I became your driver!”
They chuckled together.
“You look good.” Sandy said while looking at him. There’s no trace of the things he went through last year. He looks healthy and handsome.
“I look cuter right? I meditated a lot so I’m stress free now.”
“How are you?”
“Well, I went back to work and I won over all of the cases I handled……I go to gym every Saturday and I eat dinner with mom every Sunday. I also play basketball with some colleague every other week…How about you? Where were you this past seven months?”
“I finally got a chance to volunteer in Africa.”
“Really?! Wow, that’s one of your dreams since high school right?”
“Yes…then I went back here in Korea and now volunteers at a home for the aged. I also teach toddlers at a preschool…”
“You, a teacher? Hmm….I could see that…Seems like you’ve done a lot that me…”
She's smiling with what he’s saying when she noticed the ring on his left hand. It’s his wedding ring. He sees her staring at it.
“Ah…this? I live now at our house. I tried to get to know her and I still am…I think I have a crush on her….”He admitted with a shy smile.
Sandy feels sorry for Julian and her eyes get misty.
“You don’t have to feel sorry for me…..I think the amnesia is somehow a blessing in disguise. Not only it shields me from pain of losing her, I get to learn a lot as well. It taught me how to let go and accept. To live life with a light heart. It also makes me remember how much I loved you. The only regret I have is that I hurt you.”
Her tears fell to her cheeks. Julian held both of her hands.
“Sandy, I had been bad…very, very bad…and I can’t believe that you still shed tears for someone like me….”
“You were my first love…..but most of all, you will always be my best friend…”
His tears fell too as he held her hands to his lips.
“Thank you….thank you for your big heart…” He says as they both cry.
