Chapter 3

[ (y/n) 's POV ]

As soon as I left Levi's office, I went to take a shower. I really needed to think things through. I took off my clothes and waited for my body to adjust to the slightly cold water.

Am I really that useless in his eyes?

My hands balled into fists, my knuckles turning white from the pressure.

I guess I wasn't useless when I helped him get his shit together around here.

After I got out of the shower, I patted my skin dry with a towel.

"(y/n)!"

"Hange? What are you doing here?" I asked, startled.

"What do you mean? I'm clearly going to take a shower."

"You don't do that often. What's the special occasion?" I joked.

"Oh nothing. I just wanted to talk to Levi and he basically ordered me to go and take a shower because he said that I 'smelled like shit'."

"For God's sake. Can't he do anything else but be an asshole to people?"

I put on my clothes and walked out, but why was Hange following me? So much for taking a shower.

"So you guys fought again?"

"Yeah. Just forget about it."

We both stayed silent until we arrived at the dining area.

"Captain (y/n), aren't you going to eat anything?" a squad member asked me as I sat down.

"Guys, I told you, when we're alone you don't have to be that formal." I smiled. "And it's fine. I'm not hungry anyway."

"Are you worried about the expedition?"

"I guess that's it."

"Well it's only in 5 days from now. And you don't have to worry. Everything is going to be fine."

A wave of anxiety hit me.

5? How did the days go by so quickly?

"I'm talking to you."

I looked up only to see Levi staring at me with his arms crossed.

"I wasn't paying attention." I sighed.

"Clearly. Where are the new formation plans that Erwin asked you to give me?"

Some days ago, Erwin showed me the new formations. So I did my job and re-grouped all the scouts, plan based, during training, so that they knew their positions in the upcoming expedition. However...

Shit, I totally forgot!

"I'm sorry Levi, I-"

"What are you even doing (y/n)? This expedition is only 5 days away and you've done nothing but-"

I slammed my hand on the table as I got up, my eyes meeting his. I made my way towards our shared bedroom, as I didn't want to argue in front of everyone, so he took the hint and followed me.

"I'm so sick and tired of you telling me that I'm slacking off all the time. You're making me feel useless!" I said as he shut the door behind us.

"Do you even know how important it is for me to-"

"Yes, I know how important it is to you! Everything is important to you except from me!" I shouted. "I trained the scouts, I informed them about the formation, I am the military captain, so what are you so upset about? I think this is just you finding a way to lash out on me again."

He scoffed.

"Just give me the damn papers (y/n). I don't have time for your-"

"I'm done!"
