*John's POV*
I slowly approached the bridge that my mother had always brought me to. It held so many memories of mine.
She told me that she was pregnant with my siblings on this bridge. Ever since that day, I made a vow to be the best big brother possible.
She told me stories of her parents, of my grandparents, on this bridge.
She would tell me random things, that would normally be over looked. Like how she saw a blue jay on the way home from work.
I got closer and closer to the edge, until I was a step away.
I looked down. A fall from this height would probably kill me.
But is that a bad thing?
I'm useless anyways. Only a few more steps.
I dug my nails into my palm.
Nobody would care, anyway. Not your dad, not Mary, nobody.
I took a step up, and was now standing on the edge.
I didn't even realize I was crying.
I could hear a car pulling up to the bridge, and footsteps. But it all seemed so distance.
I turned to see Laf running towards me, with a look of horror in his eyes.
"I'm sorry." I muttered.
I could tell that Laf was responding, but nothing seemed to register.
Herc and Alex both pulled up, joining Laf. I felt a pang of guilt, before looking down again.
They don't care. They're lying.
I put a leg out.
Only one more step. One more.
I could hear them trying to talk to me, but it felt like I could barely hear them.
One more step and it's all over.
I stepped off.
"NO!"
