I explained to them what had happened to John, and they had been silent the entire time. The only thing I could hear was half way through the call, a car starting.
"We'll be there soon." Herc said, before hanging up.
I started to pace the hall. The nurses still haven't left.
Moments later, Hercules and Lafayette both rushed.
"We're here for John Laurens!" Hercules exclaimed. The receptionist must be a different one then usual, since the one usually there knows us by now.
"Relation?" She asked.
"He's uh..." Herc thought for a second. "My son?"
The receptionist was silent for a second. "Sir, he's not you're son."
Herc sighed in defeat, kicking the closest wall. Thankfully, Lafayette stepped in.
"I'm sorry, Miss, he was joking. I'm actually his brother, and this is my fiancé." He said, convincingly.
The receptionist eyed them both, suspiciously, before sighing. "You can't go in right now. You'll have to wait outside."
Laf grabbed Herc's arm and dragged him behind him. As soon as they saw me, they broke out into a jog.
"Any news?" Herc asked. I nodded, sadly.
Laf pulled a chair from across the hall over to our side. "I guess we have to wait."
We waited for a little. Henry came after awhile, and brought Martha and James as company. Mary was coming later.
Another couple minutes later, Mary arrived, sitting on the ground next to her younger siblings.
We all made small chat, trying to lighten the mood. We had no idea what was going inside John's room.
We all started to doze off, as we heard a door open. I figured it was another room, like the other times, so I didn't even bother looking up.
A heard somebody clear their throat, and finally looked up. My eyes widened. A doctor stood in front of us.
"You guys are the Laurens family?" He said, looking mostly at Mary, James, Henry, Martha, and Laf. Mary raised a eye at Laf, before getting the idea and quickly looking away.
"Yes, we are." Henry said, standing up and shaking the doctors hand.
"How are you too related?" He looked at Herc and I.
"I'm his future brother in law, and he is-" Herc started to come at with an excuse for me before I cut him off.
"Fiancé. I'm his fiancé."
All of the Laurens looked at me, amused. I blushed, slightly embarrassed.
"Alright. I'm Doctor Goodman-"
"How's my brother?" Henry interrupted.
The doctor shifted uncomfortably. "Your brother, John, he-"
