Chapter 29

Sneaking In

" Finally!" Clayton said as they reached the top of the mountain.

" Need to take a breather?"

" No, I'm good. I just wish the snow wasn't blowing so much, I can hardly see anything."

" Don't worry. The castle is just up ahead."

" There's probably guards at the entrance. How do you want to do this?"

" The snow will make for good cover. I say we go around to the side of the castle, then climb up from there."

" You mean we have to do even more climbing? The castle walls are smooth. There's not even anything to grab on."

" That's why we have these," Saliso said, taking an ice pick out of his pack.

" When did you get that?"

" Before we got ready to leave, Nixy told me she put two each in our packs last night."

" Huh. So that's why it felt a bit heavier."

It took a while. And once or twice they were nearly spotted. But eventually, they reached the side of the castle. In a couple of hours, they reached the top.

" See anyone?" Saliso asked.

" There's a few of them on the other side. We should avoid that area. Man, I am not looking forward to the climbs back down."

" Bridges to cross when we get to them. Now, let's see if we can find that ship," Saliso said. Then he and Clayton headed down into the castle. They made sure to keep in the shadows and behind walls to avoid detection.

" This place is huge. How are we supposed to find it?"

" I think the most likely place it would be, is the treasure room. That being said, I have no clue where that is located."

" Should we split up?"

" It would help us cover more ground. But, we'd be at a disadvantage fighting separately."

" True. But last time we fought these things, we were pretty fatigued. Now, we can handle a lot more of them. Even if we aren't working together. And besides, we most likely will not be fighting them."

" Fine then. But if you run into trouble, shout. I'll do the same thing if I get captured. At the very least, one of us can escape and go back to Nixy for help."

" Right. Good Luck, Saliso."

" You too, Clayton."

The two of them went their separate ways. Saliso decided to stay and explore the floor he was on. And Clayton went to explore the lower floors. Obviously, they couldn't just open every door they came across. Or else they would risk being seen. So, they had to wait for the ice golems to open different doors. Mostly the rooms were filled with beds and chests for the ice golems. Also weapons.

" How are we suppose to find anything in a place this big?" Clayton thought, annoyed.

He was considering, heading down, when he saw something furry dash across the hall in front of him. He was quick to duck behind a wall.

" That was close! The hell was that thing?"

He figured he should see where it went. Doing so, led him to the throne room. There he saw the creature that previously ran in front of him. It turned out to be a monkey yeti creature. Much like the dead ones the yetis had in the sack back at the village. The room it went into ended up being the throne room. Sitting on the throne, was another monkey Yeti.
