Chapter 40

Lord Motum Non Metus

" How did you get in here?" Fructus asked Motum.

" I just slipped through the cracks. Like this," She said, turning her body into water. She slithered behind Fructus and Coxit, re-solidifying herself.

" Impressive. Unfortunately, we're dealing with a bit of a situation upstairs. We were invaded."

" I figured as much, hearing the sounds from upstairs."

" Will you help us take care of the invaders?"

" Why bother? The ship is already constructed. I'll show you how to use it once we get outside."

" We'd love to take it out. But we have to open the doors. And the levers are too high up for us to reach. Not to mention we lack the strength to pull them without the Ice Golems."

" Not to worry. I can handle it," Motum said, walking up to the ship.

Then she had the snakes that made up her hair, sink their teeth into it. Coxit and Fructus watched as the ship began to ripple like water. And the snakes began consuming it.

" D-did she just drink the ship?" Coxit asked, bewildered.

" I'll spit it back out, once we're outside."

They arrived outside just in time to see Jack and the others' pods leaving.

" No! They're getting away! After them!" Fructus ordered Motum.

" First off, don't ever tell me what do,"

" You can't talk to him like that!" Coxit said, before being frozen by Motum.

" Ah! Coxit!" Fructus yelled, seeing him frozen in a block of ice.

"Secondly, they're of no concern to us now. We already have everything we need."

" But what about my revenge on Nixy? No doubt her and those other beasts are already rebuilding what was destroyed."

" Your revenge can wait a bit longer. I didn't come here to help settle your personal squabbles. I came here to complete my task."

" And what task would that be exactly? You haven't mentioned it to me since we first met."

" You'll find out soon. For now, just follow me."

" Fine. But could you thaw Coxit out first?"

" Very well," Motum replied. Then had her snakes breath on the frozen monkey yeti.

Coxit fell to his knees, shivering.

" Are you okay?" Fructus asked, kneeling beside him.

" I-i'm fine. I just need a little help up is all."

" Let's get a move on," Motum said, once Coxit and Fructus were back on their feet.

Hours of travel took them to Motum's ship. It was large, to say the least. It made the ship they had, look like a toy in comparison. Her ship was that of a gold and silver snake coiling around each other. Both snakes matched the ones that made up Motum's hair. The mouths were open as if the snakes were ready to strike. Many cultists lined the ship. One stepped forward and said.

" Lord Motum, we have located it, at last."

" Excellent."

" What have they found?" Fructus asked.

" Just be quiet. And get inside my ship."

Motum's ship flew them to a small moon. It was located between Ardennis, Congelationis, and what was left of Gelusic. It looked partially burned in some places and was smoking.
