" Pulmenti, you came to watch us fight?" Lapisa asked.
She found him in what she guessed was The Coliseum's kitchen. He was mixing drinks while some other Golems were preparing meals
" Of course. But, I'm also here on business. They let me make drinks here and sell them to spectators. In exchange, they get a small percentage of my earnings."
" I see. Did you watch Planta's fight?"
" I caught bits of it. That last part was rough. I was scared she wasn't going to make it."
" Don't be. She's more than capable of pulling herself out of a bad situation. Although I'd be lying if I said, I wasn't worried for her as well."
" Are you up next?"
" Yeah. I'm a little nervous, to be honest."
" I could whip you up something for that."
" No thanks. I don't think getting hammered right before a match, is a good idea."
" Nah, this won't get you hammered. It'll just, loosen you up."
" Is it a drink that'll improve my abilities? Because the rules were pretty clear on forbidding those kinds of drinks."
" No, it's fine. Lot's of fighters take this before a fight. It doesn't sharpen your senses or anything. It just, helps you be more calm to focus better. After all, too much stress can hinder performance. But, you don't have to take any if you don't want to."
" Hm, I guess a sip or two won't hurt. Does it taste good?"
" I have yet to hear someone complain about how it tastes," Pulmenti said. Then began pouring four different colored liquids into a single shot glass. The resulting mixture was a light blue colored liquid.
After drinking it, Lapisa felt herself relax.
"This is nice. I'm not drunk. But, that knot in my stomach is gone."
" See? Didn't I tell you?"
" Thank you Pulmenti. I better check on Planta though. Want to come with?"
" Wish I could, but gotta get back to work. Can you tell her I said hi?"
" Of course."
Lapisa got to the healing room, just as Planta opened the door to it. Then stepped out.
" Those baths work like a charm. Fixed me right up!"
" I'm happy to see you're okay. Sorry I didn't get here sooner. I was talking with Pulmenti."
" He's here?"
"Yeah, selling drinks. Want to go say hi? He's in the kitchen."
" I do. But I want to get to the seats in time for your match."
" It's fine. You can catch up later."
" Alright, see you then."
A short while later, Planta was walking beside Pulmenti to the spectators' area.
" Hopefully, Lapisa's match goes better than mine did."
" She'll be fine. You like the drink I made for you?"
" Yeah, thanks. I could get hooked on it."
" No problem. Are you feeling okay?" Pulmenti asked. Planta was starting to wobble as she walked.
" Yeah, I don't know what's going on. Was it the drink?" She asked him, slumping against the wall.
" It shouldn't be. That was the same one I gave Lapisa. And she seemed fine. Unless...oh no!"
