Set Back

" Holy shit! That was close!" Jack thought.

Some cult members had caught up with him. Then tried shooting him. He was able to avoid it by dashing into one of the doors, he and Allen had left open. Then he locked it shut from the other side. Then he opened a door he, Allen, and Acronu hadn't before. He made sure to close the other doors before stepping through the new one and locking it."

" Alright, that should buy me some time. I just hope Allen and Acronu can hold their own. Also that I don't get lost again. I should've marked those doors somehow before closing it. Might've fucked myself over. Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when it comes. Now to see where these stairs lead."

Meanwhile, the cultists had busted the door open. Then ended up picking the wrong door. Instead of picking the one Jack took, they took the one on the left of it.

The stairs took Jack to a chilly area. He saw that the walls and floor were lightly covered in frost.

" This must be where they store the food. Too bad it's probably tainted. I could use some food right now."

Jack glanced in each room he came across. In them were more Golem and Yeti Corpses.

" God damn. Dead bodies everywhere we look. The fuck happened to them anyway?" He wondered.

There was one last door to check in the area he was in. Upon opening it, he saw a pitch-black room.

" At least there are no corpses this time. "

Feeling around the room, he realized it was smaller than the rooms they had already searched. This one was only a little bigger than a closet.

" Another dead end.." Jack turned to leave, then tripped over something on the floor.

" Mother fucker!" He yelled, after hitting his head on the floor caused by tripping over the unknown object.

He rubbed his head, then turned to see if he could feel for the object. It took a few moments, but eventually, he grasped something big and ring-shaped. Pulling on it, he heard chains rattle. He pulled it with more force, causing a door to lift up from the floor with a loud creak. It landed with a thud. And light shone from the hole it revealed. On his knees, Jack peered down into the hole to see only a small bottle filled with light blue glowing smoke.

"..I was really hoping for a weapon. Oh well, maybe this is a healing potion or something. " He grabbed the bottle. Then left the room.

" Coast seems clear so far. Guess I lost them," He thought. That is until the next door he opened happened to have ten cultists on the other side of it. They turned to shoot. But, Jack slammed the door shut before they could. What followed was several loud blasts hitting the door. Then it shaking as it was rammed into.

Jack dashed to the furthest door, just as the cultists broke the other one down.

" Hold still, you bastard!" A cultist yelled, firing at him.

Jack went up some stairs to find himself, back on the bridge with Allen, Acronu, and Uvam.

Jack saw Allen had been stabbed in several areas along his torso and was bleeding a lot. Meanwhile, Acronu had suffered several injuries as well. In his case, there were mostly burn marks along his front legs. Uvam had several light scratches along his neck. As well as a bruise on his face. The unconscious bodies of several corpses could be seen behind Uvam. Allen and Acronu looked as if they would collapse at any moment.

" Allen! Acronu! You toad bastard!"

" Hey! That word is considered a slur on my planet! Your friends put up a good fight. But, it ends here. That ability of yours is a danger to Lord Timore and the other Lords. It's almost a waste though. You're so weak, killing you doesn't seem worth it."
