"O-oh. Well hey, you still have a whole six days left to change your opinion of me. Who knows? You might even despise me by the time it's all said and done." You joked despite the anxiety you felt.
"I don't foresee that happening which is a part of the issue I'm having." Aizawa deadpanned.
Noticing your obvious confusion, Aizawa continued, "Okay look, I'm not great with people. I never have been, it's one of the reasons why I picked night patrol. People usually don't give me a second thought most of the time. That works well for me, so imagine my frustration when I suddenly had to deal with all..." he gestured vaguely at you and the thread, "this."
"Well it's not like I asked to be cuffed to an ass like you either." You huffed indignantly.
Aizawa scowled at you, "I misspoke, but you've made yourself quite clear on how you feel about me."
"You misspoke? What the hell did you mean to say then? And bite me, I called you an ass because you called me frustrating—as if I chose to be a part of this!" You hissed at him, forgetting to keep your voice down.
Neither of you noticed your argument gathering the attention of a few of the students. Jiro ducked for cover behind a stack of gym equipment as she used her quirk to listen in.
"Keep your voice down, you're being too loud." Aizawa said, looking across the gym at the students sparring, "When I said you were frustrating, I meant this situation. Neither of us chose to be stuck together, and then there's the added tension from what that lunatic said about us being soulmates. I don't know if he said that just to mess with my head. There are a lot of factors I don't know how to handle in this kind of situation. It's even more frustrating because you're stuck in the middle of it all when you don't need to be."
You shook your head before speaking, "It's sweet that you're worried about me, but -"
"I never said I was worried"
"Yea, you did. In your own way. But please listen to me for second, whatever this situation brings, we're gonna do it together. I'm not the only one that's affected by this, so let me help you while I'm here. You don't need to stress about me so much, it's not like I'm a student you need to watch over."
"You could have fooled me with that outfit you're wearing." Aizawa muttered.
"Don't act like you aren't loving these legs" you teased while dramatically gesturing to them.
"Am I really stuck with you for another six days?" Aizawa sighed.
"Afraid so, sir." You laughed.
"Do me a favor then, and stop with the flirting while you're dressed as a student. It's strange."
"Somebody's eager to get me out of this skirt." You whispered, glancing around to make sure you hadn't been overheard.
"Y/N. Please."
"Yea, okay. I'm sorry." You sighed before shrugging, "I make terrible attempts at humor when I'm nervous or uncomfortable."
"So I've noticed."
"It's one of my redeeming qualities."
"Keep telling yourself that." Aizawa said, almost smiling.
"Rude." You stuck your tongue out at him, "It's not like I can contribute much else while I'm here."
"Did you want to help with the class?" Aizawa asked, interest piqued.
"I mean yea, I love teaching! It's why I work at the daycare. I don't think I'd be much use for your class though, since they all seem to have a good understanding of their quirks already." You smiled sadly as you watched Bakugo spar with Kirishima, "They're pretty amazing kids."
"I have an idea." Aizawa said without missing a beat, "You should spar with them."
"What?!" You exclaimed, "There's no way I stand a chance against them! I've only ever used my quirk on fussy toddlers at nap time. Not to mention, we're still attached at the wrist!"
"I get the feeling you'll do better than you think." Aizawa said before addressing the class, "Listen up! For the last portion of class, we'll be doing some more quirk exposure. Since we have Ms. Y/N for the next couple of days, it seemed like a good opportunity for you all to spar against someone with a different emitter-type quirk than you're used to."
"But sir," Kirishima raises his hand, "How is she going to spar when you guys are stuck together like that?"
"That is for Ms. Y/N and I to worry about." Aizawa said flatly, "Now then, do we have any volunteers?"
