You're not sure how long you stood on that street corner. Five minutes? An hour? Maybe three? The only thing you knew for sure was that the sun had set and the street lights had flickered to life by the time you walked all the way back to your apartment complex.
You slowly trudged up all six flights of stairs, quietly muttering to yourself about needing to move to a nicer complex. Somewhere with far less creaky stairs. You turned around the corner that led to your apartment to find Mic propped up against your door with a tall glass bottle. It's was missing a third of it's contents.
Mic's head lolled to the side and he smiled brightly at you, "Yyyyyyyyyy/nnnnnnnnnnn, my new favorite listenerrr! You're here! I've been waiting for you for like an hour."
You knelt beside him and set down your purse, "Mic, what the heck? What are you doing here? —And why are you drunk?"
"I came to check on you, lil' listener. Oh, and give you these." Mic slurred slightly. He let go of the liquor bottle that sat beside him and began to clumsily dig around in his pockets. He gave an incomprehensible shout of victory as he pulled out a set of keys. Your keys.
"Why do you have my keys...?"
"I forgot to put them in the duffel bag before I left the other night. —Speaking of which," Mic patted the duffel bag that had previously been tucked out of view on his opposite side, "I figured you'd want a bit of space from Shouta, so I grabbed the rest of your stuff from his apartment and brought it with me since I was already coming over. I hope you don't mind me butting in on your personal air time."
"Did you run into Aizawa or something? How'd you know we weren't tied together anymore?" You asked as you slowly stood back up. You offered him a hand and helped him to his feet.
Mic snorted as he dropped your keys into your hand, "Did I run into him? The guy looked like a sad half drowned cat when I ran into him at the Teacher's Dorm." He swiped his bottle from the ground as you unlocked the door. You picked up your purse and duffel bag before going inside.
You frowned at the mental image of Aizawa and you shut the door behind Mic, "Did he say anything?"
Mic spun off the cap on the bottle and took a sip before offering it to you, "Not much other than that he really messed and was going to bed."
You took the bottle and looked at the label, pineapple vodka. You took a long drink from the bottle, grimacing as it burned your throat slightly.
"I see." You said, not sure how to feel about the situation, "so is there any particular reason you brought the liquor as well?" You handed him back the bottle.
"I figured you might want an ice breaker of some kind."
"Why do I need an ice breaker?" You asked as you tossed the bags down by the door.
"In case you felt awkward talking to me about what happened." Mic said with a shrug before taking another swig from the bottle.
"What makes you think I want to talk about it? Or better yet, that I even need to talk about it?" You asked bitterly before snatching the bottle back from him.
You upended the bottle for a solid five seconds before slamming it on your coffee table and collapsing on the couch with a frustrated groan. Mic gave you a small sad lopsided grin before plopping down beside you, "I think you just answered your own question, Y/N."
You rubbed your face in frustration, already feeling slightly warm and numb from the liquor.
I should have eaten something before I started drinking. Crap.
You turned slightly to face him, still laying against the back of the couch and sighed, "Mic, why did this have to happen? I was fine with how my life was before this week ever happened. But now- now all I can fucking think about is that stupid tired man that was forced into my life. I hate that I miss him so much even though we barely knew each other. And I really hate that he didn't just tell me the truth."
Mic frowned but nodded, "Yea, I don't envy your situation lil listener, but I'm still glad it happened."
You raised an eyebrow in question so he continued, "Yea man, I wouldn't have made totally stellar new friend like you if you hadn't gotten yourself stuck to Shouta."
You let yourself smile a little as you watched Mic clumsily swipe the bottle from off the table and make a toast, "To new friends."
Summary: Y/N finds an intoxicated mic waiting for her outside her apartment with her keys that he forgot to return. Mic calls Y/N out for being upset about the whole situation with Aizawa. They drink a bit together during all this. Mic essentially solidifies his position as Y/N's new friend.
(A/N: so I've realized I kinda have no idea how to write Mic's character so.. yea, sorry about that lol)
