Aizawa dismissed the students to go off to their next class with Present Mic. He wiped the chalkboard clean as the students filed out.
"Now that they're gone, I'll call over to the police station to have them pull the file." Aizawa said, pulling out his phone. He dialed the station's non-emergent line, "It's Eraserhead... I need you to pull up the file for the criminal I dropped off at the station three nights ago." He paused and glanced at you before continuing, "My clearance code is EAS1988....Yea, I'll hold."
Aizawa placed the call on speaker phone before setting it down on his desk. He picked up a seemingly random stack of papers from off his desk and began sorting through them, "It should go without saying, but you know you can't let anyone know that you know my clearance code, right?"
You nodded, "Yea, not a problem. To be honest, I'm not even sure what it's for."
"All Pros and PSAP centers have some kind of clearance code or secure line for them to use in order to gain access to sensitive information for any incident they may be working."
"PSAP?"
"Stands for Public Safety Answering Point. They're the different hero agencies and dispatch centers that take calls when there's an emergency."
"Oh, ok." You said as you pulled your phone back out to check your messages again.
"You're frowning at your phone again." Aizawa commented as he continued sorting through the papers.
"It's nothing, my friends are just messaging me." You sighed.
"Are they the ones that are out of town?"
"Yea, they actually just got back this morning." You said as you messed with the case covering your phone.
"I'm guessing they want to get together with you now that they're back then."
"Yeah, they do actually," You said, surprised at how Aizawa had guessed correctly, "but don't worry, I'm going to tell them I can't make it tonight.
"We should go."
"Wait. Seriously? I thought you wouldn't be interested in going out to grab dinner with a bunch of strangers."
"I won't lie," Aizawa began, "I'm not a fan of meeting new people or making meaningless small talk. But it's obvious that these people are important to you, so you shouldn't cancel plans you had made in advance just because of me."
"Are you sure you want to? I don't mind rescheduling with them."
"Do I look like the kind of person that would suggest doing something if I'm not sure about it?"
"...no."
"Then there's not a problem. Unless of course, you wanted to reschedule because you don't want your friends to know about our current situation."
"What? No!" You exclaimed defensively, "why would I be trying to hide you from my friends?"
"Because you don't want them to misunderstand the situation— which is understandable— that and you're embarrassed by the fact that we've slept and showered together."
You heard somebody cough loudly through the speaker of Aizawa's phone.
Welp, this is awkward...
A man's voice started speaking, "Uh, Mr. Eraserhead, sir? Are you still there?"
Aizawa sighed, "Yea, I'm here. Were you able to pull his record?"
"Um. Yes sir, what was it you were hoping to find in it today?"
"Go to his medical charts and find his quirk registration."
"Okay, one moment while I pull that up." There was the clicking of a keyboard as the man typed, "Okay sir, now what?"
"Look to see if there's anything recorded about the intensity and duration of his quirk. Is there anything about the affects weakening gradually over time?" Aizawa instructed as he leaned forward over the desk.
"Hmmmm.... no sir, it doesn't look like it. But.... there is this note written under 'Quirk Stipulations' that says the length of the soul thread can potentially increase as both parties become more comfortable around each other. Is that possibly what you're referring to? I don't really know what's happening with your case beyond this call."
Aizawa doesn't respond quick enough so the man continued, "By the way sir, if you don't mind my asking, how come you didn't erase the suspect's quirk after detaining him the other day? I thought your quirk only didn't work against heteromorphic types."
Aizawa snatched the phone off the desk and quickly ended the call without a word. He looked at you, trying to keep his dismay at bay and said, "I can explain."
