The three of you made quick work of cleaning the rest of the kitchen. You left Mic and Riena as they looked through your dvd collection to take a quick shower. You grabbed the cold medicine on your way back to your room to get some clothes, and sat it on your nightstand where Aizawa would see it when he woke up.
After you finished, you glanced back in the room and noticed that Aizawa still hadn't stirred. You sighed and tucked loose strands of your hair behind your ear.
The dumbass isn't going to get better anytime soon if he doesn't take the meds.
You swiped the medicine off the table and walked over to the side of your bed. Aizawa laid there in the fetal position with his back against the wall. He scowled faintly in his sleep at the sound of you walking closer.
In hindsight, you should have said something before you tried to wake him. The moment you touched his shoulder, his eyes flew open and in the next you found yourself trapped beneath him on your bed. He pinned your arms above your head with one hand and clamped the other over your mouth. His eyes glowed red as he nullified your quirk. You struggled violently against his iron grip as you tried shouting for help. Your lungs began to burn under the weight of his body on your's.
You felt him freeze at roughly the same time you began to truly hyperventilate, your eyes wide with fear. He immediately jerked backwards releasing you.
"I didn't mean to- I didn't- I would never.." Aizawa struggled to give an explanation as to what just happened.
You took a moment to get your breathing back under control as you continued to lay across the bed where you had been pinned moments earlier. You sighed and calmly fixed your shirt. Decisively, you scooted to the side of the bed furthest from the wall and patted the small empty space beside you. Aizawa frowned looking lost but hesitantly laid down beside you on his back. There was a tense silence before you spoke, "Was it another nightmare?"
Why am I giving him an out? He's a grown man, he can explain himself.
Aizawa nodded before turning onto his side to face you. You didn't look away from the ceiling, but knew he wore that same tired and distrusting expression that he got when things didn't go how he anticipated. You almost flinched when he finally spoke, "What do you mean another nightmare?"
Wait. Did I really never mention them to him?
"You've had a couple nightmares last week. I figured you wouldn't want me to bring them up." You said awkwardly.
Aizawa's frowned deepened, "But that doesn't make any sense. Last week was the first time in a while that I... you used your quirk on me while I slept. Didn't you."
You cringed at the accusation but nodded, "I know it wasn't right of me to not ask for your permission first, but I thought you wouldn't mind. I should have told y—"
"How much of it was because of your quirk." Aizawa asked with a harsh edge to his voice.
"What?" You asked turning your head to look at him.
"How much of what I felt last week was because you used your quirk on me?" He repeated as he stared at you with a look of complete betrayal burning in his eyes. You flipped onto your side so that you faced him directly and tried to process his question.
"What do you mean what you felt? What did you feel? I only intentionally used my quirk on you when you were freaking out in your sleep. If you felt anything else... that wasn't because my quirk. At least not purposely." You explained defensively. You swallowed a growing feeling of guilt that bubbled up inside you.
"How often."
"You had a nightmare almost every time you fell asleep." You said quietly, looking away from Aizawa's face. You settled on staring at the stubble that trailed down his neck.
How did we end up like this?
Aizawa groaned loudly and drug his hand down his face.
"Aizawa, I.."
"What am I supposed to think now Y/N? I cared so— I care so much about you —I felt safe with you— but how much of it was real? Was any of it? Or was it all just a side effect from prolonged exposure to your quirk?"
You opened your mouth to answer, to say something —anything— but you didn't know how to respond.
... Does my quirk have a lingering affect on people? I never thought of it like that. I mean, I guess it kinda makes sense... but wait, if that's the case, does he really think I meant to do all of it on purpose?
