You closed the door behind you and walked over to where the others sat at the kitchen table. You walked in just in time to see Mic hand Reina back her phone and gave them a knowing look.
"What? Am I not allowed to be friends with them too?" Reina said when she saw you.
You sat down in the empty chair at the table and rolled your eyes, "Don't be so melodramatic, and slide me the rest of my coffee already." Reina picked up the mug, glancing inside as she passed it to you. You went to take a sip of the lukewarm coffee and found that your mug was empty, "what the hell Reina? You couldn't just make another pot of coffee? You had to go and drink mine?"
Reina didn't look impressed with your accusation, "For your information, it was your boytoy that drank the rest of your coffee. He muttered something about you hiding the mugs when he went to make his own cup. I told him to just use yours since you left it."
"Wait why? You know where my cups are." you asked, despite already knowing the answer.
"Because it's funny to see you overreact to everything." She snickered before sipping her own coffee, "That, and I was curious how he'd react to the suggestion." You rolled your eyes as you stood and grabbed the coffee pot to refill your cup.
Mic raised an eyebrow, "And? Did ya get the reaction you were hoping for listener?"
"I'll tell you in just a second." She smirked. You rolled your eyes and finished making your coffee. You took a sip as you sat back down, "So why are you waiting to tell us?"
"I wanted to get the other half of the reaction first." she said obviously pleased with the results, "but yea, I saw what I was looking for."
"Which was... what exactly?" You said sipping your coffee again.
"That neither of you were bothered by the idea of sharing a cup." She said grinning.
Is she being serious right now? Oh my god, I'm friends with a dumbass.
"Reina. Honey." You sighed and tried to think of how to put what you were about to say, "I've literally had that man help me shower when I was hurt and even borrowed a pair of his boxers to sleep in. Why would I give a flying fuck about sharing a cup?"
Reina wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, "It's an indirect kiss."
"Oh grow up." You snorted.
"Only if you do first."
Mic loaded his plate up with the leftover pancakes as he listened to the two of you bicker.
"Oh!" Reina exclaimed, slapping the table with her hands, "speaking of growing up! Guess who got their quirk two days ago?!"
You gasped and slammed down the coffee mug excitedly, "Oh my God, was it lil Benjin? Please tell me it was him!"
Reina nodded excitedly. You grinned ear to ear, "What's his quirk looking like?"
"He breathes fire just like his big sisters." She grinned proudly, "He ran around the classroom screaming that he was a dragon too now and spitting out tiny fire balls."
Mic looked concerned as he continued stuffing his mouth with pancakes. He spoke between bites, "I get why the kid is excited, but why are you two acting like you won concert tickets or something?"
Reina sighed as she ran her hand through her hair, "The other kids were starting to bully him, calling him quirkless and all that. We're trying to explain to the kids why it didn't matter if he was quirkless or not, but Benjin was still taking it really hard. I'm just happy to see him smiling again."
You nodded in agreement as you stood and started cleaning up the kitchen table, "Yea, it'll be nice to see our kids again tomorrow."
"Oh! So you're coming in tommrow?" Reina asked hopefully.
You began filling the sink with warm water and dish soap, "Yea, I've already been out for a week. It's not like my bills stopped coming in because of everything that happened last week."
"Yea fair point, I guess you didn't exactly plan to take time off for that impromptu vacation." She said as walked over to stand beside you at the sink.
You laughed dryly, "That's putting it lightly. I'm going to need to pick up a couple extra shifts now to make sure I have the utilities covered for this month." You scrubbed and rinsed the dirty dishes before passing them to her to dry and put away.
"I think the one blonde girl that works Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays is looking for someone to cover for her for a wedding or something out of town next week." Reina said bending down to put up a mixing bowl in one of the cabinets by Mic.
You caught him watching her out of the corner of your eye and smirked to yourself, "I guess I'll just have to check her out then, don't you think so Mic?"
Mic's fork slipped out of his hand and panic flashed across his face in the split second he realized he had been caught.
He scrambled to pick back up the fork and laughed tensely, "Ah yea, that sounds a wicked plan Y/N! You should totally look into it."Oh. This is gonna be fun to watch.
"I guess it's decided then, I'll get with her tomorrow evening and ask if she still needs help." You said as you glanced at the clock on the wall, "but for now we still have quite a bit of time left for today. What do y'all want to do around the apartment for the rest of the day?"
"We can't leave the apartment?" Reina asked pouting slightly as she dried off a plate.
You shook your head, "No, you're free to come and go as you like. But as far as Blondie over there and Aizawa calling out sick, they can't exactly be seen hanging out in public for the rest of the day."
"Sounds like the perfect excuse for a movie marathon to me." Mic said excited.
"I'm down for some movies." Reina agreed with a big grin.
"I guess it's unanimous then, movie night it is." You sighed happily.
