Buffy stood in the gym, shooting baskets into the net.

The door to the gym opened but she ignored it and continued her practice.

"Hello,"A voice said.

Buffy turned around to see a boy slightly taller than her with dark brown hair and deep brown eyes.

"Hi,"Buffy said.

"Are you Buffy Driscoll,"The boy asked.

"Who's asking,"Buffy asked turning around to continue shooting hoops.

"I am,"The boy said.

"And you are,"Buffy asked.

"Marty, Marty Stitt,"the boy responded.

"As in Coach Stitt for the college basketball team,"Buffy asked.

"That's the one,"Marty said.

"Woah,"Buffy said,"What do you want?"

"I want you to pretend to be my girlfriend,"Marty said.

"Why,"Buffy asked turning around to face him.

"My parents expect me to bring my girlfriend to dinner this Wednesday and I don't have one. I need you to pretend,"Marty said.

"And why me? There are thousands of pretty girls in this school that would be more than happy to date you. Why choose me,"Buffy asked.

"Because you are the most beautiful of them all,"Marty said.

Buffy blushed, she never blushed.

"Look, I can't help you,"Buffy said returning to shoot hoops.

"You'd be able to talk to my dad. If you want to go to the college then he could help you get a scholarship for basketball,"Marty said.

"I only have to pretend for one night,"Buffy said turning around.

Marty nodded.

"Then you've got yourself a fake girlfriend."

Buffy couldn't believe she was doing this.

She was walking over to Marty's house which was only a neighborhood or two away from hers.

She had her jacket wrapped tightly around her, her legs shaking since they were exposed.

She carefully made her way to the address that Marty had told her.

The houses in this neighborhood were huge, much bigger than hers.
She found the light blue house and walked up to the door, knocking.

It was a few second until Marty answered it.

He looked very handsome with a dress shirt, dress pants, dress shoes, and a blazer all in shades of black and gray.

"Woah, Buffy. You're shivering,"Marty said pulling her inside and close to him.

This must have been part of the act already.

He helped her take her coat off and hung it on the coat rack.

"Wow,"Marty said looking at Buffy.

She was in a short red dress with wedges making her Marty's height.

"You look, wow,"Marty gaped.

Buffy blushed before moving to stand next to him and putting his arm around her.

Marty led her through the hallway before they reached the dining room area where other people sat.

"Oh, you must be Buffy,"A woman said standing up and coming over to hug her,"Marty has told us so much about you."
