The next week was hands down the best week of my life. It was this huge blur of montage scenes. Ansh and I walking in the park with our intertwined fingers. Ansh and I fighting over a ice cream flavour. Ansh and I licking that ice cream off of each other later. Ansh and I texting endlessly sending each other wierd jokes. Ansh and I having dinner at wierd places he would suggest. Ansh and I watching the worst movies of history. Ansh and I doing our phone sex when we couldn't do it in real. Ansh and I sneaking flirty glances at each other across the room. Ansh and I laughing as we lay naked in the bed. Ansh and I cooking together. Ansh smacking me on the butt while I served him that cooked food. Ansh watching me dance my ass off in my bedroom when he turned up unannounced. Ansh making fun of my dancing. Ansh apologising and doing his own ridiculous dance moves to make me laugh when I got mad. Ansh sending me sexy texts in the middle of the day.
Ansh. Ansh. Ansh.

It wad filled with him. But also, it was filled with my free time spending with Aaliyah trying to find that apartment and then doing everything we can to make it mine as soon as possible. I couldn't take the awkwardness I felt seeing my parents and Ansh in the same room. I also feared dad might just ask him to be a man and get married to me which can't be good. A few days ago, mom and dad asked to meet Ansh's parents, so we had dinner. It wasn't a mind blowing meeting. It wasn't anything bad either. It was just boring. So Ansh and I sneaked out in the middle of the dinner to kiss on his front porch. Also, we took a lot of pictures. My favourite one is the one I'm staring at right now.
It's a selfie but it's still great.
"All done?" Aaliyah came into the room with her big belly.
Aaliyah is helping me pack my stuff which is not that much. I found the place I wanted to have almost 5 days ago. Vivaan have great connections, so he made it possible for me to move in there within the week. That is today. Mom didn't expect for me to move out so fast. But she'd been understanding or at least trying to be.
"Almost." I smiled and put that picture back in the box of pictures I'll be taking.
I sat on the floor surrounded by boxes in my room.
"These are the final boxes, right?" Aaliyah asked.
"Yeah." I picked up my phone to check if Ansh has texted or not. I've been busy in packing and sending my stuff up, and he didn't text at all today. We talked last night and he said he would come to help me, but there's no sign of him.
"Why are you frowning?"
"Ansh haven't texted at all today."
"So?"
"So I'm just wondering where is he."
"Oh I'm sure he'll be there to help you set your stuff up. Now let's get ready."
"Ready?"
"Uh-huh. You are going to go to your new home. You have to get ready."
"Aaliyah you know my obsession with unorganised things. I'll just probably start setting up my apartment as soon as I enter. So there's no point of getting ready."
"Come on Kiara. You can't set it all up alone. Your bed is still not delivered. So you are not going to sleep in there today anyway."
"So?"
"So get ready. We'll drop these boxes off and go and celebrate."
"I don't have money Aaliyah. It's all gone."
My poor little bank balance. I don't think I'll be able to give them a house warming party either. Or buy new clothes for a few months either. Gah.
I thought I had a lot of money saved. Since I've been on paid internship- courtesy of my father's connection-in my company for 3 years before I joined as full time worker. I never lived alone so I never actually had to spent much money. It would usually go to my savings or clothes and shoes. But now it feels like I'm poor again.

"I'll pay." Aaliyah stood up. That means her decision is final. And I'll have to follow that. You can't really say no to a pregnant woman. Especially when she is your best friend.
And I knew that even if I've had money, she wouldn't let me pay. She loves paying. She has always been a spender. She spent her parent's money all her life. Now she spends her husband's. She's never really wanted to have a career. She's always been into random stuff, just enjoying her life. So her talent is basically to keep people happy.
I on the other hand, it's a total different story. I never really knew what I wanted to be. I wanted a career, I was good at academics but still that talent, that something unique within me I couldn't find. Or maybe I did but that just kind of became a hobby over the years. And as soon as I got into college, dad got me to do internship a year free and the next year with salary. College ended and I stayed at that place. I enjoyed my work, I wasn't passionate about it. But then again, I don't think I am passionate about anything. Only Ansh.
"Okay I'll get ready." I sighed and got changed. I threw my dirty clothes on the washing machine. Then it hit me.
Oh god. I'm going to have to do a lot of work all by myself. I don't know how I'll be able to live alone. I'm only seeing the negative signs of it now.
I picked the dirty laundry and put that in my bag. I'll wash this in my apartment. I still don't have a washing machine and a lot of stuff. But what the hell? I'll use my hands.
I walked out to find dad loading up all of my stuff in the car.
Mom smiled at me from the porch.
"You leaving?" Mom asked.
"I'll probably come back tonight, after dinner. The bed hasn't arrived yet..so-"
"You can come back whenever you want."
I hugged my mom. This feels like a goodbye. Only I know it's not. I'm only 10 minutes away from here.
"Take care. Ask me for whatever help you need in decoration and stuff. And please, always pick up the phone." Mom gave me the directions.
I nodded. I walked towards my dad and hugged him.
"We'll drop by tomorrow to bring you a house warming gift."
I chuckled. "Dad you helped me with the rent. I don't need a gift from you."
"Are you sure about that?" Dad raised his eyebrow in question.
"Come on Kiara. We're getting late!" Aaliyah shouted from the front paseenger seat.
We're late? Late for what exactly? Wierdo.
I rolled my eyes. I gave my dad one parting smile before I got settled in the driver's seat. Aaliyah's car is awesome. I don't have one. Add one more thing that I have to buy some time soon.
"Drive!" Aaliyah ordered.
"What's up your ass?" I muttered and pulled away from my parent's home as Aaliyah texted furiously on her phone. What's going on?
