"Let's play a game." Ansh said as we lay side by side on the cool floor of the terrace as we stared at the stars.
I don't know how we end up like this. Laying down next to each other, just being quiet, well until Ansh spoke up. One moment we were eating, the next we decided to go out. Just when I was gettjng ready Ansh turned the TV on and the weather forecast says that a storm is coming. So I made him come all the way upstairs, so that I can enjoy the calm before the storm.
Literally and figuratively.
"What game?" I asked.
The sky is clear and the stars twinkling from up there makes me happy. So happy after a long time. Its surreal.
"I'll say something and you'll have to say that one word that comes to your mind." Ansh explained.
"That's easy enough. Shoot."
"Clear your head first."
"Its already clear."
"Fine. Favourite celebrity?"
"Shawn Mendes."
Ansh turned around so fast, he made me jump a little. We faced each other and the shocked expression on his face made me laugh so hard.
"What?!" I managed to ask.
"He is younger than you." Ansh stated.
"So?!"
"So.....Why?"
I laughed again. "He is hot." I stated simply. Ansh just stared at me.
"Would you stop?!" I swatted his arm. His lips twitched a little and he settled back down.
"Alright. First kiss?"
"Awful."
I got the same reaction from Ansh, again.
"Why?" He asked again.
"Okay mister, you're totally ruining this game." I said very seriously this time.
"I know but I have to know. Why was it awful?"
"I don't know. Probably because he used too much tongue and I'm pretty sure he didn't brushed his teeth before. So as soon as I got back home I puked in the washroom."
Ansh and I both started laughing.
"Oh my god. That should never be the first experience for any girl, kiara."
"I exaggerated a bit. I didn't exactly puked. I only felt like it."
After the laughter died down, Ansh continued the game, asking me random stuff and with his hilarious reactions, it was fun until he started getting into personal territory.
"Aarav?"
"Stupid."
"You're probably right. Preeti?"
"Pretty?"
"Okay. Your first time?"
"I'm not going to answer that."
"Why not?"
"I don't want to."
"Alright. I promise I won't ask for details, just one word."
I exhaled. "Painful?" Ansh stared at me. I know he wants to ask but he kept his promise.
"Okay. Your first reaction when you saw me?"
"Oh My God."
Ansh chuckled. "Likewise. Your first reaction when you found out I'm Aarav's best friend?"
"Oh My God."
Ansh chuckled. "Fair enough. Your first thought when we were in my room back in my apartment?"
I swallowed. And stared on the dark clouds now covering the stars. I can't answer him. I can't tell him that I wanted him to kiss me. I just can't. Even if he feels the same way for me, I can't risk it. I can't make him choose between Aarav and me. I won't.
"Kiara?" Ansh's gaze burned the side of my face but I kept quiet.
"Look at me." He said and moved a little closer to me. Whatever seduction technique he has going on, its killing me. Its Killing Me.
I got up abruptly.
"Don't you think we should go downstairs. This hard floor is making my back hurt."
I'm so bad at deflecting.
Ansh sat up beside me and stared at me. Its like he is seeing right through me.
"The fact that you're not telling me the answer, tells me a lot Kiara."
I finally looked at him. When I didn't say anything, he stood up and offered me his hand to take it. I took the hand and as soon as we stood up, a rain drop dropped on the back of my hand.
The tension flew away and I looked up at the sky and smiled.
"You like rain?" Ansh asked.
"I love rain." I said happily. I left him standing there as I walked up to the verge of the building and looked down at the river.
"What're you doing Kiara?" Ansh called out.
"I don't know." I said, and the rain washed down so heavily, it almost blinded me. The heavy rain drops hit my body soaking my clothes as I closed my eyes.
"Kiara!" Ansh said, the loud clatter of rain against the hard floor, muffling his sound.
God, its been forever since I enjoyed the rain.
"Come on. You'll catch fever." He said again.
I ignored him and tipped my head back and closed my eyes. The rain drops fell on my face, making me feel so good, so content after such a long time.
The spell broke when a strong arms clutched my forearm and whipped me around. It took me a moment to look past the heavy rain and directly into Ansh's eyes. God, he is beautiful. Yes. Beautiful. So handsome as the wet cotton of his shirt clung to his hard chest and abs. He hair all wet and eyelashes dripping with water.
"Are you trying to kill me?" Ansh said as he looked down at me. I looked down at me. Oh boy! My clothes are clinging to me like a second skin. Everything is see through. Yes I repeat. Everything.
I quickly crossed my hands over my chest. My cheeks redenned as Ansh looked away a moment.
"Come on, lets go." Ansh said finally.
"Why?!"
"Why? Its raining Kiara."
"I know. I can see that. And we're already wet, what's the point of leaving now?"
"This rain plus this fast wind and those wet clothes are going to make you sick."
"Who cares?"
"I do."
"Well then, keep me warm." I taunted him.
Okay, so yeah I was messing around with him. I'm only human. And here he is all tall and handsome standing in fron of me in his wet snug jeans. Can't a girl flirt a little?
Ansh gave me a smirk.
He is planning something. Oh he is definitely planning something. He took a step toward me, and I took a step back. He took another step, I took another back.
"Aren't you going to let me keep you warm?" Ansh said.
"I was kidding."
"Oh but I wasn't."
"Ansh." I warned him as he keep backing me up.
One moment he was standing there in the heavy rain and the next he jumped on me. I yelped and turned around and sprinted to the opposite side of the terrace.
And just like that, we were kids again. Running around, laughing uncontrolably, as the rain washed down everything.
