The following morning, Eleanor was in her office, having an important phone call with Henry's associates, Wren entered her office and looked at her waiting for her to finish.

"So?" asked Wren. "Did you tell them?"

"I did, even though it would have been a great opportunity for us"

"I know, I'm really sorry Eleanor but I don't want anything that has to do something with my father's business"

"Believe me Wren, I get that and for some reason I like that part about you, depending on yourself. You built this company with your bare hands and your money without needing your father's help" She looked at her proudly. "But sometimes we need those kind of deals"

She sighed. "I realize that and I promise I'll make it up to you"

"You better... but do it for yourself not for me, it's your company after all"

"And you are my second mother" She smiled sweetly at Eleanor and Eleanor couldn't believe what she had just hear. "I won't let you down too"

She smiled. "I know, you won't" Tears started forming in her eyes but she hid them by looking through some papers. "Now get back to your office, please"

She left Eleanor's office and went to her own and Madeline came up to her with another folder.

"I'm so sorry to bother you but you need to sign this" She took the papers from her, taking a quick look at them.

"You never bother me" She muttered under her breath and Madeline lips curled into a smile.

"Okay, this looks to me like a lot of words. I need a moment to read it carefully and when I finish, I'll give it to Eleanor. Thank you"

She nodded and went back to her desk.

Wren headed to her office and sat on her desk, reading the papers carefully, like a student reading the exam paper before scribbling down the answer. She took her pen and signed her name.

"That'll do" she said.

Meanwhile, Madeline was calling Dave, but there was no answer, she sent him a text two hours ago but he hadn't texted her back, she started to get worried but decided to keep her coolness for a while. The only thing that came to her mind was that maybe he was mad at her because she stood him up for Wren. She sighed from the frustration and sat on her desk, trying to distract herself with work, Wren's door opened and she walked out of her office rushing to Eleanor's.

"Damn!! They all look busy today" said Emily.

"They have so much deals and contracts and I'm sure Wren reads the contracts careful"

"Look at you!! You became an expert" she said and she laughed softly.

"What can I say?" She shrugged. "Working with them made me realize the importance of thinking before making any decision"

"Mm-hmm"

"I'm heading to the restroom if she needed anything, could you please do it for her?"

"No need to ask"

Wren went back to her office, and started working on her laptop. Her door swung open and Dave walked in like a storm without knocking and clearly Emily saw that and realized that something was about to happen.

"Dave! You okay?" asked Wren as she saw Dave with bags under his eyes and his clothes were a little crumbled. She thought he was drunk.

"How could you do this?"

She frowned confused. "Do what?"

"How could you do this to me Wren?! I thought I was your brother"
