Chapter (27):

At 7:00 The family was having dinner, Wren was sitting beside Madeline and Joseph was talking to Dan about their victory today.

"Did you see when she scored the third one? Phew! That one was amazing, right pops?"

"I feel like my son is in high school" They all laughed.

"Wren?" asked Dan while he was sipping his water. "Do you have a girlfriend?" The table turned eyes on her curious.

"Uh, no. Not yet" When she said it she was disappointed as she wanted to tell them how much she loved Madeline. Madeline noticed the change of atmosphere around Wren so she grabbed her hand from under the table, giving it a light squeeze.

"What about Monique Vernon? Last time I heard, you guys were together"

"We were but then we broke up and decided to be just friends"

"Sooo she is single? Can you give me her phone number?"

"She is gay" she said and they laughed again at him.

"What?!" he asked. "She is hot and I'm hot. I think we are compatible in some way"

"She is still gay" said Mike.

"You guys are no fun"

"What happened to Veronica?" asked Madeline.

"I can have both ladies in my arms" He winked.

"Gross!!" said Lena poking her tongue at her son.

"You are just mad because we beat you today mom!!"

She smirked at her son then turned to Wren from across the table. "Wren, did you know that when Dan was a baby he used to wear dippers till the age of five?" said Lena teasing her son.

"Mom!! That's embarrassing, not in front of Wren" She laughed.

"Oh!! And he had this bear with broken nose he used to call it... what did he call it, honey?" she asked her husband.

"Nosey!!" said Joseph.

"Okay that's enough" He stood up abruptly and went to his mom "You win! Just stop with the humiliating!" She laughed so hard that she held her stomach.

They enjoyed the dinner time by making fun of Dan and poor Dan sat quietly the rest of the dinner but he eventually burst into laughter with them.

Wren was sleeping on her back, one hand behind her head the other was laid on Madeline's arm as she fell asleep on her chest by listening to the rhythm of her heart beat. Wren was thinking about telling Madeline about her true feelings towards her but she was really afraid to get hurt again after the thing with Georgina by completely giving herself to Madeline, by trusting her. She already gathered the pieces of her broken heart. Will Madeline fix it or break it again?

She sighed heavily and Madeline opened her eyes slightly. "Can't sleep?"

"You are awake! I thought you were sleeping"

"Can't sleep either, I was thinking about a lot of things"

"Like?" asked Wren, running her fingers up and down her arm.

"Like the first time I saw you, remember?"

"Yeah, the coffee day"

"No I don't mean that, I mean the time when I was about to hit your car, believe me I wanted to crash your car at that time"

She laughed softly with Madeline. "Did you see me clearly?"

"No, all what I saw was your sunglasses covering your face"

"I have to admit I was cool that day" She smirked. "And I remember the day when I laid my eyes on you, it was your first fashion show. You looked so beautiful. Breathtaking"

She kissed her forehead and hugged her. Madeline pressed her chin on her chest looking into Wren's eyes then to her lips and leaned forward kissing her fully on the lips and she slipped her tongue into her mouth. Wren complied as usual and put her hands on Madeline's waist adjusting her against her as the kiss deepens then Madeline broke the kiss and stroked her bruised side.

"Does it still hurt?"

"Just a little..." She stroked her hair. "But if you keep rubbing it, I'm sure it will go away"

She smiled at her and kept rubbing her bruise nicely and gently and soon they gave up to sleep with Madeline in Wren's embrace.

On the next day the Andrews were sitting in the garden enjoying the lake view, Eleanor was talking to Wren about work stuff until Lena interrupted them.

"I heard about that new perfume Rosabelle. Congratulations!"

"Thanks Lena, you will be the first to get one for free"

"By the way, Madeline was the one who created the name. She was the one who came up with the idea" said Wren proudly.

"Really? I didn't know that but to tell you the truth, she always loved working in the field of fashion shows, make ups and so on. She used to sew clothes for her dolls when she was a little" Wren chuckled and glanced at Madeline who was talking with Rose.

"Are you gonna tell her?" asked Rose.

"I have to, right?"

"Duh!"

"But what if she doesn't accept it? I know she won't"

She sighed. "I'm gonna be honest with you, when you tell her, don't expect her to be happy or excited. She is going to be mad but if you truly care about her then run after her. Don't let it come between you two because Madeline you are falling hard for her"

"You are right, tonight.... tonight I'm gonna tell her. I have to"

"You better before it's too late" She held her sister's hand.

It was 5:00 PM and they were still outside the house, the family was preparing a bonfire night, grabbing a few chairs and marshmallows to have like a small camp.

A tall handsome young man with brown hair and blue eyes came holding roses and gave them to Lena and she kissed him on the cheek and pointed at Madeline. Wren was watching from afar, but didn't understand anything, all she saw was the man hugging Madeline tightly so she figured he was a relative of the family but something was off at the way Madeline returned the hug, it was like she hesitated especially when she locked eyes with her.

Joseph saw him and both walked to Eleanor and Wren. Wren was eyeing him curious to know who he was.

"Wren, Eleanor, this is William Hastings he works with me in my company and he is Madeline's future husband"

Wren felt like she got stabbed in the heart at hearing the words 'Future Husband', she couldn't breathe for a moment as the world spun around her and locked eyes with Madeline sadly.
