Two days have passed and work was still in progress but Madeline didn't show up. She decided to stay at her parent's house for some time until she forgets about Wren which she thought would be easy but it wasn't. It is hard to forget about someone you spent most of your time with, seeing them every day lightens up your day instead of the sun, loving them is even harder than seeing them because either you know they feel the same about you and you can't take a step closer or they don't even know you exist. This is how Madeline felt now, her feelings for Wren was true but she ruined them by hiding the truth, now she regrets leaving Wren go on her way.

Her family felt that Madeline was distant the few couple days but Rose brushed them off knowing that Madeline wasn't in the mood to tell them about her and Wren. William always sat next to his fiancée holding her hands and beaming at her but he didn't make her feel the butterflies like Wren, he didn't make her heart skip a beat like Wren, he didn't make her nervous like Wren, he didn't make her love him deeply like she loved Wren.

At Mirabel, now that Eleanor knows everything, she tries not to bring up the subject about Madeline in front of Wren or Wren would be distant and bitter.

"Wren, you need to sign this" said Eleanor as she handed her the paper, she didn't even care what it was about, she just signed her name and handed it back to her. "Thanks..." She looked at her. "Do you wanna have lunch with me? Just for a change"

"Thanks Eleanor I appreciate the offer but I'm not hungry" she said kindly.

"Can I at least grab you something to drink?"

"No. I'm actually gonna head home. I need some rest"

"Okay" Wren approached her and kissed her on the cheek then left.

She went to her house, headed to the basement and grabbed her new whiskey bottle, opened it and started drinking the whole bottle. She finished it and grabbed another one and another one drinking them till the end, not caring how much alcohol she has in her blood as long as the taste was bitter and warm down her throat, she didn't care about anything around her.

Suddenly her legs got heavy and she fell on the floor unable to breath, her breathing became shallow and her skin turned pale and the next she knew was that everything turned black as she passed out on the floor. Seven minutes later, Monique entered Wren's house and called for her name but she wasn't answering.

"Wren, I'm here! I heard about what happened from Emily! I came to check on you!"

She looked around. "Wren?!"

She opened the bedroom door and found Wren lying on the floor unconscious, she rushed by her side, checking her. "Wren? Wren wake up!" She shook her gently and her eyes fell on the whiskey bottles beside her weak body. "Oh god!" She quickly grabbed her phone and tried to hold it firmly in her shaky hands and dialed 911. "Hello!! I need an ambulance!! Right now!!"

Siren's light was seen, siren's wailing was heard, siren's speed was felt as the ambulance was taking Wren to the hospital rushing through the streets in the late night. Lights of the city and cars passed by and Monique was holding her hand, fighting back her tears, staying strong for her friend. The paramedics were doing all they could, regulating her breath, checking her vital, her heart beats on the monitor, they were slowing, slowing, slowing down.

........................................................

"Hey, I'm looking for Camilla Castillo. She had a baby here a few minutes ago"

"Yes, she is in room 202"

"Thanks"

As she was turning around to visit the patient, the doors opened and she saw a gurney carrying unconscious Wren to the emergency room. She almost dropped her phone but caught it and Monique was following the doctors with tears in her eyes but they stopped her from entering.

"Wren?"

........................................................

Madeline was sitting with her family in the living room and William was wrapping his arm around her and the other was flat on the couch, she was faking a smile at everything they say. Her phone buzzed in her jeans, she excused herself to answer and Rose followed her in case something happens.

"Hello"

"Madeline... it's Wren... she is in the hospital" She dropped her phone and covered her mouth. Mike came to the kitchen and looked at her with a frown and Rose heard the word 'Hospital' as it escaped Madeline's lips as a whisper.

"Hello?... Hello?"

Rose grabbed the phone from the ground. "Hey, Eva it's Rose, where are you now?"

"I'm at Emory St. Joseph's hospital"

"We are on our way" She hung up and turned back to Madeline who her eyes were glassy but she didn't cry.

"I have to go to her" she said as she stood up. "I have to see her" She wiped her tears quickly.

"What about dad?"

"I'll tell him everything but not now" She grabbed her car keys from the bowl near the door.

"Let me drive you"

"No, Rose, you stay here. I have got this"

"But Madeline you look tired. You can't drive with a state like this"

"I don't care! I'm leaving. Please don't tell them where I'm going" She walked past her and Dan saw her heading out.

"Where are you going?" he asked confused.

"Dan, please not now" She rushed outside to her car and started the engine.

"What's going on here?" he asked Rose, and Mike just shrugged.

"Long story" said Rose. "I'll fill you in later" She looked at her husband and Dan. "Both of you, now we need to tell our parents and William that Madeline had to go to run some errand, okay?" They nodded.
