Chapter 38

Brooklyn's P.O.V

"Niall!" Mallory screamed, jumping up and running over to Niall who was laying on the ground. I shot up and ran over to him with Lux on my hip. "Niall, what's wrong?"

"My- Ah! My knee!" He screamed in pain. I looked around and saw everyone but Sophie and Ava around Niall. I turned back and saw Ava sitting on the grass looking at us. Sophie was by her looking at us with the same wide eyes.

"Nil!" Lux squealed. I put my finger over her lip and she looked up at me. I shook my head and she buried her head into my shoulder.

"I'm calling the ambulance." Harry said, causing all of us to look at him. I made eye contact with him for a second then looked down at Lux. For some reason Harry's look still made my heart beat faster.

"Okay. Here Ly, hold Lux." I gave Lux to LyLayn and all of the boys except for Harry moved Niall over to a chair while I held his knee up. Niall yelped in pain many times before we were to the chair and we could tell he was really hurt.

"The people said they'll be here in a minute." He said to everyone. Then he came over to me and whispered into my ear. "Brook, can I talk to you?" I nodded and turned around to follow him behind a large tree.

"What?" I asked, looking into his beautiful green eyes. He could seduce anyone or anything with those eyes.

"I'm sorry. I get that I shouldn't feel betrayed about you getting pregnant while we weren't together, but you can't just expect me to be okay with it. You're pregnant with Liam's baby. Liam's baby. Not mine. How is this going to work? Are you and Liam going to be together and leave me out of the picture as Lux and Sophie's father? Or is the baby not going to know Liam as is father?" All I could do was look down at the ground. I hadn't actually thought about this.

"I-I don't know." Was all I could say before I felt Harry's hand under my chin. He made me look up at him and he gave me a comforting look.

"You understand I want to be a part of Sophie and Lux's life. I just don't know how I can do that with you always running away and going back to Liam. Just don't run away and come back to me." Before I could protest what he just said with words I shook my head no.

"No, Harry. I have my own job, flat and someone who will help me through this. I don't want to be with anybody right now, so please just let me be. You can have the girls every other weekend. I think that's more fair and if I can't bring them to work then you can watch them." I started walking away when I felt Harry grab my wrist.

"Just know that whatever you do, and whatever anybody says, I will always love you." His words shook me up. I didn't know how to respond to him, but he let to of my wrist and I walked away.

I didn't want to date anybody right now, and if Harry thinks he can make me fall in love with him, then he's right. I am so in love with him, but I'm not going to do anything about it.

I went back over to Niall and saw the ambulances turning the corner. I went over to Ava and Sophie, and they both looked terrified.

"W-What happen to Daddy?" Ava asked. I sat down on the ground next to her and pulled her into my lap.

"I don't know, but I know he will be fine. I know he will. Just stay strong for Daddy, okay?" She nodded but the look on her face didn't make her seem so sure. I took one of her hands in mine and whispered into her ear. "Stay strong for Daddy." I looked up at Niall who was looking at Ava with a smile on his face.

"It's okay." He told Ava as he was lifted onto a stretcher and put in the ambulance.

"Can you bring Ava to the hospital please?" Mallory asked, walking over to me with tears in her eyes. I nodded and she smiled. "Thanks. I'm going with Niall. See you there." She went into the ambulance and it drove off, leaving me with Sophie and Ava, LyLayn and Zayn with Lux, and El, Louis, Liam and Harry together.
