Brooklyn's P.O.V
I had been living with Sophie and Lux for almost a month and I think I've done a pretty good job. Lux was walking fairly well, and Sophie's speech had been improving little by little. I worked with her every day for just a little while, but it seemed to work. I remember my Mum did it when I had speech impediment and it worked with me.
The only badish thing was I had a small baby bump. I was only sixteen weeks along though, and when I was pregnant with Sophie I didn't start showing until I was twenty weeks. I figured I could be farther along than I though, but only by a few days. Not enough to make me show early. I had decided to let the thoughts be as they were until I had my first ultrasound today.
"Mummy? Why is your tummy tow big?" Sophie asked while we were in the kitchen. She was sitting in the counter and I was making her some lunch before she went over to Mallory's flat. Liam and I haven't gotten around to telling Sophie about the baby, even though she wouldn't fully understand until later. All she would know is that she was getting a new brother or sister.
"I'll tell you at dinner tonight. Everybody is coming over for dinner, so I'll tell you there. Actually, me and Uncle Li will tell you. Okay?" She nodded and smiled happily. "For now, you and Lux are going over to Aunt Mallory's flat." I had started calling Mallory Aunt Mallory because even if something was to happen between Niall and her, she was still one of my closest friends. She would still be around, so I figured I could make her Aunt Mallory.
I handed her half a sandwich and some carrots, then left her to eat. I went to Lux's nursery and listened at the door. I heard some small gurgling noises and once in a while a word like Tofie which was meant to be Sophie. It could mean either her giraffe or her sister, but since she was in her room with Sophie the giraffe then I figured it was that Sophie.
I finally opened the door and saw Lux standing up, holding onto the bars at the front of her crib for support. I was hoping she had taken her full nap when I put her down, but I guess not. I walked over to her and took her in my arms. I set her down on the changing table and changed her diaper, then put her in a pink jumper and finished it off with a pink bow in her hair.
"Mummy!" Lux squealed. I giggled and kissed her cheeks.
"Hi baby." I cooed. She giggled slightly before grabbing Sophie the giraffe. "Ready to go to Aunt Mallory's?" I asked, putting Lux on my hip, turning the light out and walking to the living room. I noticed Lux was falling a bit to the front, so I readjusted her and went over to Sophie. "Come on Soph." I said as Sophie got off the counter. She grabbed Ella the elephant and then my hand. I took them over to Mallory's flat and knocked.
"Hello?" Mason answered. "Hey Brook."
"Hey Mason, is Mal here?" I asked. He looked back to where the two rooms would be and nodded.
"Yeah, but she's in the shower. Was she supposed to watch the girls today?" He asked.
"Yeah, she was. Can you just watch them until she gets out of the shower? I have to go do something with Liam today." He looked down at Sophie and sighed.
"Okay." He stepped aside and I waked in, putting Lux down on the couch.
"Thank you so much. Tell Mal I'll be back in about an hour, two hours at the most." He nodded and I walked down to the car lot. Liam told me he would pick me up and take me to my doctors office for my first ultrasound. He could now legally drive since he surprised me by getting his license. He said if he was going to be a dad, then he needed to be able to drive. He also bought a Vauxhall Insignia once he passed his driving test.
"Brookie!" Liam yelled from a spot by the entrance. I turned my head to him and started walking to his car. When I got to his car, he greeted me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey Li. Ready?" I smiled at him.
"Yeah. Just... Are you supposed to be that big? Not that I'm calling you fat or anything. You're beautiful just uh.." He said awkwardly. He opened my door and moved aside.
"I know what you mean, Li. But I'm not sure. I wasn't this big with Soph until about twenty weeks. I'm only sixteen weeks now though." I got in the car and Liam got in on the drivers side.
"Is that bad or good?" Liam asked, starting the car and pulling onto the road.
"Not sure." I said, thinking. I was just wondering if it wasn't Liam's baby. I was basically wishing, though.
"You okay?" Liam asked, looking at me when we got to the car lot of the hospital. I looked up at him and nodded.
"Yeah." I opened my door and got out, then went over to Liam's side. He looked a little spaced out. "Liam, are you okay?" I asked, taking his hand in mine.
"I-I don't know. I mean, I'm going to be a father and my best friend is going to be the mum. I just feel torn between scared and sorry." He said.
"Sorry?" I asked. "Why sorry?"
"I got you pregnant." He said, looking down at my stomach. I zipped up the jacket I was wearing and sighed.
"It takes two. Now come on or we'll be late." I tugged his hand and we went inside to my doctors office.
"Brooklyn." The nurse called from he door. I got up with Liam and we went back to the room. It only took about five minutes for Dr. Hollands to come in.
"Hello, Brooklyn. How are you today?" Dr. Hollands asked, putting on gloves and pulling my shirt up.
"I'm fine, but I have a question." He nodded and put some gel on my stomach. "Well, I wasn't this big when I was pregnant last time, so im just wondering about that." I told him. He nodded and switched on the machines.
"Well, you cold be farther along than you think, or you could just be bigger. Sometimes it just depends on how old a woman is or what gender the fetus is." I looked over at Liam and saw him smile.
He saw me with Sophie and I was small, but now I was going to be big. Honestly, with what the docotr said it would be a boy most likely. I think Liam wants a boy.
"You are right, though. You shouldn't be this big right now. Not if your carrying a baby."
I didn't know what that meant, but Dr. Hollands put the lens on my stomach and turned on the screen. I looked up at it and something didn't seem right.
"Would you like to find out the sex?" Dr. Hollands asked. I looked at Liam and he shrugged. That means its up to me.
"Liam, do you? I don't care. We can or we can't. Doesn't matter. Don't leave the decision up to me." He looked at me then my stomach.
"Okay. I want to know." He told Dr. Hollands.
"Alright." He paused and moved the lens my stomach. I saw him squint at the screen and move closer to it. "Miss Greene, Mr. Payne. You are expecting twins. A boy and a girl."
