Those Curls

Chapter 29

"Good morning, baby girl! Happy Birthday!" I said walking into Lux's room in one of Liam's oversized shirts.

"Mummy." Lux giggled from her crib. It hurt sometimes for Lux to call me mummy. I just wanted her to know her real mum and dad, and know what amazing people they were.

"You're so smart baby!" I cooed. I picked her up and she played with the collar of Liam's shirt.

"I found Little Boo." Liam said, walking in with Sophie in his arms. Her messy curls were buried into his shoulders, and Liam was smiling.

"Morning Boo." I said walking over to Sophie and kissing her head. She looked up at me and smiled sleepily.

"I thought you meant me." Liam said with a fake pouty face. I laughed and pecked his cheek. "I'm going to get a shower. Are you okay for a minute?" Liam asked. I nodded and he handed me Sophie.

Good thing I had gotten used to holding both of my little ones at the same time.

Liam walked out of Lux's nursery and I stood there for a minute.

"Are you two hungry? Let's go get some breakfast." I walked out of Lux's nursery and went down to the kitchen. I set Sophie in the kitchen chair and Lux in her booster seat next to Sophie. I got out the cereal and gave Sophie a bowl with milk and banana, then gave Lux a bowl full of dry cereal. I got a banana and some hot tea for me, then sat down next to Lux.

I finished my banana and was almost done with my tea when Liam walked in.

"Did you need to shower?" He asked, walking over to me and kissing my cheek.

"Yeah. I probably need one badly after last night." I blushed, winking at Liam. He winked back at me and laughed. I finished my tea and put the cup into the sink. I put the peeling of the banana into the trash can and went up to my room.

I turned on the shower and took off Liam's shirt. I stepped into the shower and washed my hair, then let the water run over my body for a while. Finally, I turned off the shower and grabbed a towel from the stand. I dried my hair off and wrapped the towel around my body.

I went over to my closet and picked out a light pink sweater that was longer in the back and some shorts. I got a bra and panties, slipped into them and then put on the outfit I picked out. My hair had dried a bit from the towel, so I put it up in a ponytail and put on foundation.

I walked back downstairs to hear giggling and squealing. I got closer and saw Liam with a banana in his hand and he was making a money face at the girls. I let out a laugh and he looked up at me.

"Hey! Harry called and said to meet up at Nando's around noon. He just wanted to remind us." I hadn't heard the phone ring so I assumed he had called Liam.

"Okay. It's eleven now, so we have forty-five minutes." I said getting Lux out of her booster seat and taking her into the living room.

"I'll go change Sophie. You get Lux." Liam said picking up Soph and walking up to her room.

I took Lux up to her room and changed her into a striped white and navy blue shirt, a red skirt and her little red Toms. I gave Lux Sophie the giraffe and put a red bow in her hair. I walked into my room and put Lux on my bed. She watched me while I grabbed my navy blue Toms.

"Do you think Sophie and.." I didn't know where me and Liam were in our relationship or what to call Liam around Lux and Sophie. "Liam are downstairs?" I just said Liam. I'd figure it out later.

Lux nodded her head and smiled. I picked her up and went to check Sophie's room before going downstairs. I poked my head in and didn't see either of them, so I closed the door and went into the living room. I saw Liam on the couch with his phone and Sophie on the floor with Ashlie, her favorite baby doll.

"With ten minutes to go!" Liam said sarcastically, getting off the couch and grabbing Sophie with Ashlie in her hands.

"Shut up." I said, opening the front door and walking out to Liam's Mum's car. I put Lux in and got in the drivers seat. Liam put Sophie in and got in the passenger's seat. I turned on the car and the radio came blaring out. It was Give Your Heart a Break by Demi Lovato. It was just starting, too.

We pulled up to Nando's and I looked at Liam who was smiling. I knew that he was screaming Demi's lyrics to me inside, but I couldn't do that. Not then, anyways. It was my baby girl's first birthday party, and I wanted to make sure she was loving everything.

"Hey Lyn!" Harry yelled from across the parking lot. I got Lux out of the car and put her on my hip. Harry came over to me and kissed Lux's forehead, then my cheek. "Happy Birthday, Luxy!"

"Hi. Is Niall here yet? Any of the other boys?" I asked, walking past him.

"Yeah, Niall, Mallory, Zayn, LyLayn, Lou and Eleanor are here." He said when Liam came up behind me. Harry gave Liam a glare and started walking towards Nando's.

I really hated to tear up a friendship like this.

Mallory's P.O.V

I held Ava in my arms and felt Niall's arms around my waist. I was shaking a little because I didn't know how the others would react to her. They were her Uncles and maybe Aunts, but she was still my baby girl and I was very protective.

"Hey Mallory!" Brooklyn said to me. I smiled and waved to her. She had a baby in her arms who wasn't more than one, so I figured that was Lux.

"Hi Brooklyn." I smiled, giving her a side hug when she got over to me. "Lux is adorable." I smiled.

"Thanks. I can't believe how much Ava looks like Niall. Hi, Ava." She cooed at Ava who clutched her doll, Caycee, tightly.

"Hi." Ava mumbled, burying her head into my chest.

"Aww. Too cute." She smiled, looking to Niall. "Happy birthday Niall!" She said, giving him a side hug.

"Thanks. Happy birthday Luxy." He cooed to Lux. She giggled and smiled at him.

"Hally!" Lux screamed all of a sudden. Brooklyn's face turned red as everyone turned to look at her. She turned around and handed Lux to Harry who was standing awkwardly behind her. She went over to Liam and he wrapped his free arm around her. She was clearly embarrassed.

We all took a seat and ate our food making small talk while Ava and Sophie were having their own conversations about their dolls.

"Cake time!" Niall said as the waitress brought out three cakes. A chocolate one for Niall, a vanilla one for Lux and a small one for just Lux. We all had a laugh watching Lux devour her cake, and watching Niall devour his four slices too. I think that was the best way to have Niall's birthday party along with his niece. No matter what, these boys and girls would always be a part of my family, and for that I was truly grateful.
