AN: Just a little something to get everyone into the spirit of Halloween! Although, I'm not really a huge fan of it. I mean come on guys wait like one more month to celebrate Christmas and you get presents AND candy! Anyways...
HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS!!!It was the night of Halloween and the team ended up with a showdown out by the shipping docks of Happy Harbour. Bane was selling venom again and the team was sent to stop him.
The team didn't mind being in a mission even though it was Halloween. They were all 15 or older and didn't really like to dress up as much (you know, aside from dressing up as superhero's on a regular basis to beat up them baddies😉)
After successfully stopping Bane and his goons the team decided to walk back to the cave instead of taking the bio-ship or zetaing there. Wally was the one who suggested it actually.
"It's Halloween! All the crooks are out there trying to snatch the kids and their candy. Might as well take a detour and make sure all the little kiddies are okay." He had said.
The whole team agreed to it and thought it might be fun to see all the little kids enjoying dressing up and having fun. Even Super-Boy thought it was a good idea.
After walking up and down three or four streets Robin perked his head up as he heard a scream. Nobody had to say anything as the team rushed off towards the sound.
Turning a corner the team saw a little girl, dressed up as Wonder Woman, being forced into a white van with blacked out windows. The team rushed forward on Kaulder's command and took the kidnapper out quickly.
After tying the bad guys up, calling the police to the area, and writing them a note telling them what happened Wally calmly walked over to the, now sobbing, young girl. She looked to be about 10 years old and was clutching her Wonder Woman shield close to her chest.
Wally bent down so he was eye to eye with the little girl and said,
"Hey there, I'm Kid Flash but you can call me KF. You're safe now, okay? I'm gonna help you get home but first I need to know your name."
The little girl peeked out from the rim of her toy shield and spoke in a small voice saying,
"I-I- I'm Mary."
"Mary?! No way that's my mom's name! Isn't that cool?"
Wally said with a twinkle in his eye.
Artemis saw this from the wall she was leaned against and smiled at how good her boyfriend was with kids. She couldn't wait till they had some together one day.
The girl smiled at Wally's remark about her having the same name as his mom and brought her shield down so she could fully see Wally.
"Is your mom a superhero too? My mom is! She's the bravest hero I know! She beat a bad guy that was living in her body. It was Cancer. Daddy told me so!"
Wally smiled kindly at the girl as he scooped her up in his arms and started walking out of the alleyway.
"Well my mom's not a superhero but I think she's still pretty cool either way. Your mom sounds really awesome though. I would love to meet her. Can you show me how to get to your house?"
The little girl smiled as she wrapped her arms around Wally's neck and spoke in a more confident, less shaky, voice,
"Well, I can't remember how to get there from here. But! I know my address! It's house number 2010, the 11th alcove, 26th Avenue, Happy Harbour Way. Do you know where that is?"
