"Why!?!? Why does he always have to overreact about every little thing I do!? Any little mistake I make he's on my back about it! Megan makes mistakes! You don't see him all over her when she does something wrong! She's too perfect for him. She can do no wrong! But any little slip up or stupid thing I do he's always got to start a fight with me about it!"

Artemis finished ranting to Bette and huffed as she plopped down on the couch and folded her arms over her chest while pouting.

       They were 'studying' for a quiz that was going to be happening the next day. In reality they were sitting in Artemis' living room with their books set up to make it look like they were studying but they were really just talking.

Bette was painting her toenails as she looked up to Artemis and smirked as she spoke,

"I think he likes you. And you like him too! It's totally obvious. He doesn't treat you like other girls, right? Why else would that be!? He has a special attitude reserved just for you. He looks forward to bantering with you! It gives him a challenge! And don't get me started on you! Why else would you care so much about what he thinks of you?! If you really didn't like him you wouldn't care that he treats other girls differently than you! You guys seriously need to hook up and *ahem* make *cough* out *cough cough* already!"

Artemis scoffed as she listened to Bette gush about how her and Wally 'like' each other.
She had one word in mind when it came to her and Wally being together, 'GROSS'. So she said as much to Bette,

      "Bette, I think your crazy! Why would Wally like me!? More importantly why in the heck would I like Wally?!?! He's obnoxious and rude and he loves food more than people!"

      Artemis thought for a minute and realized that she might have twisted the truth just a bit.

      "Well that last part's not true actually. He loves people. He cares so much more about people than an average teenage boy. You'd be surprised how caring he is when it comes to just random people we sav- I mean- SEE on the street!"

      Artemis bit her lip as she glanced over at Bette to make sure she didn't catch her slip. After making sure that Bette was still content to just listen and paint her toenails Artemis went back to her rant/gush,

       "He also has an auntie that he just adores! The way he talks about her makes me lose all respect for myself and all other teenagers in todays day and age! He loves her so much and he's not afraid to let people know.  Same thing applies to his mom! And his face is so open and caring, oh my gosh, Bette, you wouldn't believe the whirlwind of feelings you can get just from looking into his eyes! You can always tell when something is bothering him or when he's bursting at the seams to tell you about something funny that happened at school that day!"

     Artemis continued to go on and on without even realizing that she had gone from listing things she hates about Wally, to things she loves about Wally.

      "And his face, gosh Bette! It's so pale that when he gets angry it turns bright red. It's so cute!!! You can always tell when he's really frustrated or ticked off with someone because his face just goes from white to red in two seconds flat! And- OH MY GOSH WHAT AM I SAYING!!!"

    Artemis quickly shut up as she realized what was spewing out of her mouth at an almost impossible rate.

      Bette smirked as she purposely avoided eye contact and finished painting her nails. Once she had screwed on the top of the nail polish bottle Bette looked up at Artemis and gave her the 'I'm not taking any bull crap excuses' look as she held her arms out in a 'Well?' way.

      Artemis really hated how Bette could get her from ranting to crushing in less than a minute. But as usual, Bette was right.

      "So maybe I do have a little crush on him."

AN: Well all done! I will be making a part two of this later. Also, I am working on an AU story about Wally and Artemis living in a grungy area of Gotham and surviving by picking pockets and conning people. It is called "Of Pickpockets and Conmen".
