AN: Here it is. Finally. I'll let you guys know now though, it will not be long! It's just something short to show the adventures they have on the ride home with Roy and Jade.

       Wally and Artemis spent two more day touring around the Grand Canyon before they decided that they should probably pack up and head out to pick up Roy and Jade. It would take them two days to get to the city they were caught in. Five days in jail was punishment enough right?

       At the campsite Artemis was gathering up the stuff that they had left by the fire pit while Wally 'zipped' into town to grab some road snacks. Just as Artemis finished stacking all the garbage in the bin Wally zoomed in and pecked her on the cheek.

         "Wally, you don't need to kiss me every time you walk past me."

         Wally smirked and said,

         "So you don't like it when I kiss you?"

         "Well... no... I do... I just. Ugggg. Fine you win."

        Wally pulled Artemis close and pecked her on the lips again as he said,

        "Good."

2 DAYS LATER...

       Wally and Artemis sighed simultaneously as they drove up to the police department. They were not looking forward to a 24 hour drive home with Roy and Jade.

Wally and Roy used to be super tight but after Roy started dating Jade they grew apart. Not that Wally had anything against Jade. He just had plenty against her morals.

       Artemis and Jade never really did get along. But they loved each other. And that is what mattered most in their relationship.

       Wally looked over at Artemis and smiled as he joked,

         "I feel like this is Dick's way of 'chaperoning' us."

          Artemis furrowed her brow and spoke slowly,

          "But Dick didn't know we got together. And we weren't even together when he called and asked us to pick them up."

         Wally smirked as he said,

        "Beautiful, this is Dick we're talking about here. He probably knew we would get together the day you joined the team."

          Artemis chuckled and leaned over to sock Wally in the shoulder as she opened her door and hopped out of the SUV.

         Wally faux pouted as he rubbed his shoulder and pretended to be hurt. As Wally caught up to Artemis the two of them walked into the police department and hesitantly walked up to the desk.

        "Hi. I'm Wally West and this is Artemis Crock. We're here to pick up Roy Harper and Jade Nguyen. Mr. Bruce Wayne called in about the bail payment already. We are just here as transportation."

           The officer at the desk looked up at Wally and Artemis with a bored face and simply pointed down the hall to the right and said,

            "Cell 206. Joe'll let 'em out."

         Wally smiled in thanks and turned to walk down the hall. As soon as they were about half way they found 206. Inside Roy and Jade we're playing a game of poker. Or more specifically Jade was winning a game of poker while Roy cried like a baby about it.

         Wally sniggered as he witnessed this and then laughed outright when Roy threw his cards down in anger, letting him know of his presence there.

          Roy swirled around and walked up to the bars with an annoyed look on his face,

         "Dude! It took you long enough! Do you have any idea how long we've been sitting in this cell for?! And don't get me started on how awful it is to be stuck with the cat in an enclosed space for a large amount of time!"

        Cheshire jumped in with an angry look as she said,

        "Hey! Your not the only one that's suffering here! Listening to you talk all day isn't my idea of fun either!"

         Artemis and Wally looked at each other with almost scared expressions as they realized they would have to listen to this all the way home."

LATER IN THE CAR...

"I can't believe you would say that!!! You're not the only one that feels that way! You know what!? I think you should just -

"JADE!!!"

Artemis interrupted.

"Gosh! Can you guys like shut up for just five minutes! I swear you're worse than my four year old nephew and niece!"

Wally added.

Roy grumbled something under his breath and Jade smirked and laughed at it. Then the two continued to whisper and laugh with each other for the next five minutes. Until Roy said something stupid that set Jade off again.

"What!? I can't believe you would say that about my sister! You jerk!!!"

"You were saying some pretty crappy stuff about Wally too!"

Roy defended.

"Ugh! But you started it with your snarky little comment!"

Roy crossed his arms over his chest defiantly and stuck his nose up in the air like a five year old.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

Jade smirked with an evil glint in her eyes and said,

"Really? So, 'maybe you should take your own advice Wall-Man' doesn't sound familiar at all?"

Wally just about swerved the car into oncoming traffic.

"What?! Dude! Not cool! What happened to the bro code! Huh?!"

Roy scoffed waved it off as he said,

"You broke that code when you didn't tell me you and Arty-Farty over here kissed."

Artemis choked on her drink and Wally's pale cheeks turned so red that they could've matched the lightning bolt on his suit.

Roy chuckled and shook his head as Jade let herself smile so wide it would make the Cheshire Cat run for his money...

AN: There ya have it! Hope you guys liked it. Just a heads up, I won't do a part three of this. I like how it ended and the title is ROAD trip. Once they get back home there really wouldn't be any point in making a part three. It would basically be just another one-shot.
Also, I know I haven't updated "Of Pickpockets and Conmen" in a while but I promise I will!!! School is just getting really busy right now and the only time I have to write is like... Sundays. 😂
