AN: WOW! It has been a while! For those of you who read the announcement you'll know that things probably won't be picking back up again until sometime through the summer. Until then, though, I thought I'd give you guys a cute little fluff piece I've had on my mind for a while now. Hope you enjoy it!
June 2011, Mount Justice, 2100 Hours
"Wally! I swear if you eat another one of my French Fries I'm going to-
"Make me moooore French Fries? Give me a present? Help me get Robin back for that prank he pulled last week?"
"No, Wally, I'll-
"Kiss me?" Wally finished with a wink.
Artemis rolled her eyes and moved away from where she was sitting in-between his legs.
They had been spending the night at the Cave for some much needed alone time. Their parents always decided to turn into helicopter parents whenever they were at each other's houses'.
"You're ridiculous. I sometimes wonder why I even agreed to date you." She said with a smirk.
*gasp* "Artemis Lian Crock! You take that back right now!" Wally said with mock horror.
Artemis giggled at the use of her full name and came to the realization of something.
"Hey, Wally?" She asked as she moved back across the couch and snuggled back against him.
"Hmmm?" was his reply as he nuzzled his face into her neck placing a kiss or two under her ear.
Artemis pulled away slightly to look at his face as she asked, "What's your middle name?"
Wally instantly froze as a flush came to his face.
"M- my middle name? Oh, y'know. Just your average middle name. Nothin' real special about it. Um, why do you want to know anyways? It's not like it's important or anything." Wally tried to deflect.
"Well when you act that way about it, now I really want to know."
Wally visibly gulped, his face so red she could barely see his freckles.
"Wally, come on! It can't be that bad. It's not like, Stalin or something is it?"
Wally shook his head right away now feeling like his middle name wasn't so bad after all. That still didn't mean he was going to tell her though.
"No! It's not Stalin. Geesh Arty, why would your mind instantly go there?"
"Wally..." Artemis deadpanned as she gestured to the tv, "we're watching a documentary about the Soviet Union. And stop changing the subject and deflecting! Just tell me!"
Wally made the motion of zipping his lips shut and throwing away the key.
Artemis leaned up and pecked him on the cheek, "Pleeaasse?" she pouted.
"Nuh uh Artemis. Not happening."
Artemis kissed his other cheek, "Pleeease? For me?"
"No! I won't let you have more reasons to make fun of me." He said defiantly, though she could see his resolve was breaking.
She finally leaned up and kissed him square on the lips, "Please, Wally?" she asked with faux innocence.
Wally sighed exasperatedly as he ran his hand through his hair. He knew he was going to regret this in the future.
"You can't laugh.... ok?"
Artemis immediately perked up as she sat up straighter across from him and crossed a finger over her chest, "Cross my heart."
Wally took a deep breath, "My middle name is..."
Zeta tubes at Mount Justice, 2300 Hours
"Robin- B01" the automated voice announced.
Robin walked through the zeta tube tiredly after a long night of patrol to be greeted with the sound of hysterical laughter that sounded strangely like Artemis'.
Changing his course from the showers to the common room he was greeted with the sight of the red faces of Wally and Artemis. Although, Artemis' red face was due to an entirely different cause than Wally's. She was currently on the floor clutching her stomach as she wheezed from loss of breath as tears streamed down the sides of her face.
Robin made his presence known by clearing his throat and raised his brow inquiringly at the two older teens.
Wally just groaned tiredly as he shook his head and rubbed his hands down his face.
Artemis stopped laughing long enough to wheeze out, "Ru- *huff* Ru- *giggle* Ru- Rudolph!" as she finally managed to get the word out she broke down into another fit of hysterical giggles.
Robin only shook his head as he looked to Wally, "So you finally told her, huh?"
Wally grimaced lightly and slowly nodded his head, not once taking his eyes off of the blonde on the floor for fear of her passing out due to lack of oxygen, "Yup" was his simple reply.
Robin looked back at Artemis on the floor, who was still trying to control her laughter but failing to do so as she would immediately dissolve into another fit.
"How long has she been laughing for?"
"Oooooh...?" Wally paused to look at his watch, "On and off for about two hours now."
