we spent the rest of the week in San Francisco, enjoying our time together. what emma didn't know was that she would no longer be my girlfriend-
                              she would be my wife.
on the last day when emma was sleeping, i called amanda up and asked her if she was at our hometown. amanda was staying for the week so i decided to ask her to run some errands.
first, she had to set up the cabin. i asked her for roses at the door, then i asked her to hang up my old lgbtq+ flags in the cabin, and put emma's favourite flower petals everywhere in the room.
i had the ring with me, it was a simple diamond ring with a simple design. on the back of the ring, emlivia was embedded into the silver hoop.
i had the same ring, but the hoop thicker than hers. the diamond was smaller, and the hoop was wider.
i had to make sure, so before we head out to our hometown, i called amanda for a small check.
"hey," i call amanda. "have you had everything set up yet?"
"i think so," she says back. "it looks so cute here, you have to be here soon! also, i set up some cameras so you guys could look back at these moments."
"thanks," i reply. "you're the best. i'll wingman you a girl soon, i promise."
"k," she sighs. "see you in a bit."
                              i get in the car.
                              -emma-
olivia went out to call amanda, i wonder what for?
i put on sunflower by rex orange county and started singing, i felt eyes on me. olivia was looking at me, smiling wide.
"i'm so lucky," she smiles and i laugh.
"drive, you dreamy fuck,"i shake my head. "you're literally going the wrong way!"
"i'm not," her eyes focuses on the road and she keeps driving. "do you trust me?"
"yes of course," i take my eyes off the road. "you're the person i trust the most."
"good," she smiles. "cover your eyes. i have a surprise for you."
                              -olivia-
we were 15 minutes away from the cabin until i found out that- we can't drive into the property.
"olivia?" she mutters, unsure. "why are we at the fields?"
"i told you," i say to her. "i have a surprise for you."
i take her hand, leading her towards the cabin. amanda runs over once she comes into view.
"emma frances chamberlain." i start as i get on one knee.
"no," she covers her mouth as it gapes open. "there's is no fucking way!"
"i've known you since god knows when and i've fallen in love with you since day one. you were always there for me even though there were ups and downs, we stuck through. i love you so much, and this time, no funny business.
                              will you marry me?"
she burst out into tears, crying/laughing. she nods and i scream, my mouth connecting to hers.
"babe!" i sob and she sobs back. "i love you so much."
"i love you so much more," she says between gasps. "thank you for this."
"thank you for saying yes." our lips connect again, and they felt different. she was mine now, forever and ever.
                              - - - -
i place my hand on emma's dad's arm as we walked down the aisle, me hoping that i wouldn't trip and fall.
emma looked gorgeous in her white brides dress. her hair was curled in the most perfect places, her dress outlined her perfectly. the amount of lace at the bottom and the length of the dress fit her perfectly.
"you look so nice," emma compliments me as her dad shakes emma's hand.
"says you," i shoot back and she smiles.
"are you, olivia rouyre, willing to take emma chamberlain, as your wife?" the priest asks.
                              "yes." i answer firmly.
"are you, emma chamberlain, willing to take olivia rouyre, as your wife?" the preist asks.
                              "yes." emma says.
"you may now kiss the bride." he says to the both of us, and our lips connect. the crowd erupts into a round of applause.
after the ceremony, we changed into much more comfortable dresses and went out to see the guests.
"hey!" we see the dolan twins close to our direction. "good to see that you guys are married now. how have you guys been?" grayson days.
"we're doing the best," i smile at grayson and he smiles back. "how have you guys been? we haven't seen you in ages!"
"we've been fine." ethan replies. "we still live together, piss off each other, basic things like that. still single."
"yup," ethan sighs at the fact. "go around and treat your guests! i bet they're waiting to meet you guys. we can catch up later!"
                              the conversation ends there.
"you guys!" amanda's voice rings. "hey, congrats! this made me cry so much."
"aww," emma smiles. "crybaby!" amanda rolls her eyes.
"yes whatever!" she responds. "anyways. congratulations again, olivia you owe me a wingman opportunity, and emma i love you."
"we'll move on for now, we'll come back for your dumb ass later," emma drags me away.
emma meets my family, nothing new, i meet her dad, nothing new.
"i can't believe that your mom really didn't come," i frown. "she must be homophobic on a next level."
"she is," she shrugs. "hey. at least we're together, agreed?"
"agreed." emma and i turn around. her mom came up to the both of us and hugged each of us individually.
"congrats on being married," she tells emma and she gives emma a kiss on the cheek.
"sorry for ruining your relationship for so many years. please forgive my stubbornness." she apologises and i was shocked.
"there's no need to apologise," i reassure her. "it's all fine as long emma and i are together. i'll take good care of your daughter, i promise."
"as you should," emma's mom jokes and emma laughs lightly.
"mom," emma says. "you should sit down somewhere and enjoy some food. even though you're late, we still have food and drinks in store for you."
"thank you darlings," she goes and sit down.
"everything's perfect," emma nearly cries. "this is what i call a happily ever after."
and yes indeed, this was a happily ever after.
