Caspar’s POV

Lilly invited me to her flat, and when we got there, she told me to wait in the living room while she got us some snacks.

She came back from the kitchen, and in her hand was a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, and a bag of crisps.

“I know Zoe asked me to make her a portrait of her and Alfie, but I would do it for free. This is for my first official project here in the UK,” she handed me a glass and set down the bag before taking the bottle opener and opening the bottle.

“I’m really happy for you, Lilly,” I smiled at her. She poured some red wine into my glass then into hers.

“Cheers,” she raised her glass and we touched their rims before each taking a sip of the alcoholic beverage.

I reached over and grabbed the bag of crisps and opened it, sticking my hand in and popped each crisp individually into my mouth.

“So when are you going to start?” I asked her. She grabbed the bag from me and picked out one, slowly placing it her mouth.

“When my stuff gets here. I think that’ll be on Tuesday maybe, I’m not sure. But when he contacts me, I’ll tell him the situation.”

“Who is this guy anyways?” I asked. It came out more jealous sounding than curious, but if she noticed it she didn’t show.

“His name is Kyle. He said he wanted me to paint a portrait of him and his girlfriend as a surprise gift for her,” she popped another crisp into her mouth.

“Well, I’m sure that he’ll love it, once it’s finished.”

“Thanks, Caspar,” she smiled at me.

Footsteps came down the stairs, and Eva walked into the living room.

“Oh, hey guys. I didn’t know you came back already, Lilly,” Eva said to her sister. Eva was wearing grey sweats and a black long sleeve shirt.

“Oh, sorry. I meant to tell you I was back, but I got too excited.”

            “About?”

“Well, I just got my first official project. A guy saw me drawing in the park and asked me if I also did paintings. I told him I did and he hired me to paint a portrait of him and his girlfriend!”

“Wow! That’s great!” Eva congratulated Lilly.

“Yeah, and Caspar and I ran into each other at the park, so I invited him over to celebrate. Come join us,” Lilly motioned her sister over, and Eva came around the couch and sat next to her sister.

Eva grabbed Lilly’s wine glass and took a sip from it.

“I don’t want that much. You know I don’t take alcohol well, and I have work tomorrow still,” Eva explained.

“Yeah, I know,” Lilly said, and winked at her sister. Eva slapped her arm and took another sip of wine.

“So, who’s the guy?” Eva asked.

“His name is Kyle. I’ve never met him before.”

“I love that name. Usually Kyles are hot,” Eva laughed.

“Oh, believe me he was,” Lilly said, and this time, a pang of jealousy ran through me.

            “Describe him,” Eva said.

“Well, he was tall. He’s slightly shorter than Caspar,” Lilly pointed out.

“He’s still tall then. I have to strain my neck up to look at him,” Eva laughed.

“It’s not his fault you’re short,” Lilly laughed.

“I’m average height for a woman, okay? And thank God too, since Joe is like 5’7”,” Eva said.

“Is he really? So I am taller than him?” Lilly asked.

“Yeah. Gosh, I wish I at least got the height from Dad.”

“Yeah, well, anyways. Kyle has short curly hair. And it’s dark, like his eyes. He wore a leather jacket, and it really brought out his features. His face is pretty angular, and just, ugh. He had a pretty face, that’s all I can say.”

The description seemed to fit someone I know, and I looked at Eva. Her face seemed to agree with me.

“Wow,” Eva said, forcing a smile. “I would love to meet him someday.”

“Well, he said he’d call. I don’t know when.”

“Okay, I see. Hey, can you grab my phone upstairs? I left it.”

“Sure,” and Lilly got up, running up the stairs.

            “Caspar, do you think-“

“No, it can’t be him. He doesn’t live here.” I told her, but we were thinking the same thing.

“I hope not. Or if it is him, then I hope this is actual business,” Eva bit her lip and fiddled with her fingers nervously.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s not. It can’t be,” I reassured her.

Lilly bounded down the stairs and handed her sister her phone.

            “Thanks.”

“Anyways, I have to go. I still have to pick up some dinner for me and Joe,” I said, standing up. “Thanks for inviting me over Lilly.”

“Anytime. I love hanging out with you,” Lilly smiled, getting up and giving me a hug.

“Bye Cas,” Eva said, also getting up and giving me a hug. She then whispered something in my ear.

I nodded at her and walked out of their flat. It was almost dark, so I had to walk quickly to the store. The whole way there, all I could think about was what Eva told me.

            Look out for her.

Hmm, who is this Kyle guy? Well, you'll find out soon enough. Don't forget to vote and give feedback. Thanks x
