Caspar’s POV

I watched Lilly fall asleep in the passenger seat of my car. I shook my head and laughed to myself. I started the engine and drove to a nearby public parking lot. There, I parked, the car facing the water.

Ahead, I could see the London Eye, where we were just a few hours ago. The sun was at the wheel’s peak, its rays dancing across the water.

I looked at Lilly, who was sound asleep. Her face looked soft and delicate yet radiant, almost as if she were the flower itself. She shifted in her sleep, so her whole body was facing me. Her knees were pulled against her chest, her arms hugging them.

My chest felt like there was something fluttering inside. And so badly did I want to wake her up and tell her let’s go to the back seat of my car, and sleep there together. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her how happy I’ve become since I met her. Not that I wasn’t happy before, but it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this way.

The air was getting a bit hot, so I rolled down the windows a bit, letting in the cold air which felt wonderful in the humid air of the car.

Slowly I pulled out my phone and opened snapchat.

“Hey guys, so I’m out with my friend and she fell asleep, look,” I said, turning the camera on Lilly. It taped her for exactly two seconds before the time was up. I looked over at it and laughed, adding it to my story.

The next thing I did was take a photo of us both. I turned it black and white and added the caption “Hope she won’t kill me when she sees these”. I also added that to my story but I put my phone away and reclining my seat.

I stared at the roof of the car, imagining how else Lilly and I would spend the day. I know we would go for a walk once she wakes up. But the sky may be slightly darker when she wakes. It always gets a bit darker earlier than expected right before daylight savings starts, which is in a few days.

I looked at Lilly, and I could see movement behind her eyelids. I knew she was dreaming, and hopefully it was something nice.

Someone like Lilly didn’t deserve nightmares.

“Hey, Lilly, wake up,” I touched her shoulder lightly an hour and a half after she fell asleep.

Lilly slowly opened her eyes and sat up. “What time is it?”

            “Like, 4:30,” I responded.

“What? Why did you let me sleep so long?”

“You looked so peaceful. I didn’t want to disturb you. I was actually going to let you sleep until you woke up on your own,” I laughed.

“Oh gosh, man. I slept for too long.” She placed her hand on her face.

“I’m sorry. Is there something wrong?”

“No, not really. It’s just one of those naps when you wake up feeling groggy. I’ll be fine though,” she said, pulling down the sun visor to look at herself in the mirror.

            “I’m sorry,” I said again.

Lilly turned to me. “Hey, it’s okay. Let’s just go walk around or something now.”
