Training to Triumph

Over the next few days, I battled a great deal of pokemon, both wild and owned. When I wasn't battling, I slept in my pokeball. Though I was exhausted well before sundown, seeing Beth's appreciation for me made it worth it in my mind. Throughout my training, I had learned a lot of things. I learned new moves, which ones were most effective, and how to interpret Beth's commands. But the most interesting thing I learned was that Beth had acquired two new pokemon. I first saw them late at night after training in a pokemon center. One was about half my height with a white body and a tiny purple flame on top. Another was slightly shorter than me, walked on all fours, had blue skin and yellow-white fur covering most of its body. That was all the details I caught before Beth stood in front of them.

She had caught me glancing and replied with. "Don't worry about them, just focus on battling. Now, I think it's time for you to go to sleep now." She held up my pokeball and I got sucked inside. While resting on top of the windmill in my pokeball, I thought aloud about the other pokemon I saw.

"What can they do? Do they also battle for Beth like me? I wonder how they are like.. are they nice? Could we be friends?"

I caught myself rambling as I remembered what Beth said and not to worry about the other pokemon she had. I rested my head on the wooden ledge and curled my tail inwards. I was tired from all the training, but I suppose it was all about to pay off.

The next morning, Beth and notified me of an upcoming battle that was important to her. She warned me, "If you don't prove yourself, I would be highly disappointed. Remember to follow my orders and remember: Don't lose."

I became tense as Beth returned me to my pokeball. It was only a few minutes until I was released from it again. I heard a familiar phrase as I came out.

"Go, Snivy!"
