A Breather From the Battle

"A near-perfect victory," I thought to myself. I looked back at Beth and saw her look of approval towards me. My heart was filled with delight at satisfying my trainer. I turned towards the other side of the battlefield and saw the other human pull out my opponent's pokeball.

She returned the lillipup to it and said, "You did a good job, thanks."

I became intrigued by the way she talked to the pokemon so tenderly. I didn't have time to think about it for too long because Beth returned me to my pokeball shortly after.

Though I was given a chance to rest, I still wanted to be ready to battle for my trainer. I faintly heard the noise of battle from outside my pokeball and wondered how it was going. I figured out that the other pokemon that Beth owned was taking over for me. My trainer said not to worry about the other pokemon she had, but I still thought about them. How they battled and if they were doing as good of a job as me.

After a few more minutes of waiting, I wondered if the battle was over. If Beth's other pokemon had defeated all of the others.

The whole world around me suddenly shook. I saw being sent out again, as evidence of my vision warping around me. I was back on the dirt field, but with a new opponent in front of me. It stood taller than me on two legs and had brown fur with yellow stripes. The other human spoke.

"Let's finish this, Watchog! Use Hypnosis!"
