The two other pokemon stared into me, their eyes showing a hint of fear.
"Who are you guys," I asked in a whisper
Both of them looked down nervously, neither one answering. I thought back and realized it was wrong for me to ask such a direct question, so I introduced myself first.
"Sorry, my name is Servine, or at least that's what my trainer Beth calls me. Are you two owned by Beth as well?"
The larger pokemon with white-yellow wool looked up at me.
"Y-Yes, we are. I'm Mareep," it said in a slightly frightened voice.
Mareep turned its head to the other smaller pokemon. It had a white body that seemed like melting wax that covered its right eye while its unobscured eye was yellow. There wasn't the purple flame I saw from the pokemon center, however.
"My name is Litwick. So you're Servine? The Servine that won the gym battle for Beth?"
I blinked in surprise at Litwick.
"Sure, I guess you can say that. But you guys helped too, right?"
Litwick broke eye contact with me and looked down. Mareep did the same thing but stared at the rope tying her neck to the bed.
"We both battled but lost. We aren't strong enough for both of us to defeat one pokemon. That's why we're tied up."
I was reminded of my own time being tied up and how miserable I was. Although I couldn't untie them, I still wanted to comfort them. Like how I wanted someone to comfort me that chilly night. I tried to change topics and brighten up the conversation.
"Well, thanks for telling me your names! It's nice to meet you, Mareep and Litwick. Tell me something, what are your favorite things to do?"
