"Rose? How can she help," Mareep questioned.

"She said she'd be there to help us, and we know where she is. Rose is the only other human we know besides Beth. She's our best shot."

"But you still didn't answer my question," Mareep continued, "how can she get us out of this situation."

I sighed upon second thought.

"I'm not sure, but she seems kind enough to do something. I just don't want to sit around and wait for something to happen."

"Okay," Litwick said to gain out attention, "but how will we escape from Beth in the first place. I know we've gone on our own before, but we weren't tied up then."

I looked at the ropes and racked my brain for a solution.

"If I use my leaf tornado, the leaves should be able to cut through this."

"Okay." "Good luck!"

I focused my energy and summoned the spinning leaves. When they were encircling my body, I tried compacting them and the swirling leaves turned into a sphere about a foot in diameter. I moved the ball towards the ropes that were tied to a nightstand. A series of snaps indicated that the ropes were cut and we were free.

"What do we do now," Litwick questioned.

I looked around the dim room and found a sliver of light peeking through the window curtains. The others saw our escape route and started advancing towards the windows. As I was pulling the curtains out of the way, I got one last look at Beth.

She had deep black hair that turned into a bleached white at the tips and her usually tied up hair was down and spread out across her pillow. Her creamy beige skin was held taught by her high cheekbones. Her black eyes were closed, making her sleeping expression a peaceful one. Just by looking at her, she could have been barely a teenager.

I turned my attention back to the window and opened it. We were only on the first floor, so getting out wouldn't be an issue. I helped Mareep and Litwick out first then jumped through it myself. We ran towards the distant city lights and never looked back.
