Every night after the first time Mareep, Litwick and I met, we would come out of our pokeballs and talk to each other. Sometimes after a long day of training, we would cut these conversations short in favor of resting more. Beth would be sound asleep each time, but we made sure to keep quiet.
Through these conversations, we grew closer and we learned more about each other. I found out that Mareep was the relaxed, mild type who loved to nap anywhere that was comfortable. Litwick was quieter and slightly pessimistic but was nonetheless curious about the world.
The other pokemon and I wanted to know more about the world that Beth had kept from us. We often shared our thoughts on what we thought it was like, but never explored on our own. One night, that was all about to change.
After a couple of days of training and traveling, Beth decided to stop and rest. She settled in at a motel that was just outside of a gigantic city. Beth was mainly traveling that day, so she didn't do much battling to tire us out. That night, Litwick, Mareep and I met up as usual.
"So guys," I started, "what do you want to talk about?"
"That city we passed earlier, it was the biggest city I've seen," Litwick said in slight awe.
"Yeah, I wonder what's in it...how many humans live there? How tall are the buildings," Mareep wondered out loud. "It would be amazing if we could see it for ourselves."
"I mean, it's not like we can go there ourselves, right?"
"Actually Litwick, I think we can," I responded.
