"Wait, we can't sneak out! What if we get caught," Litwick exclaimed.
"Hold on, now. If we make it quick and be back before sunrise, we'll be fine. You guys have been curious too, right?" I argued.
When I got no reaction from either of them, I pushed my claim.
"We have been training hard, and deserve something from it. And if Beth finds out, I'm sure she'll understand. So let's all go together and explore the city!"
The two pokemon fell silent as they thought about it.
"Okay," Litwick finally answered. He gave a nervous smile.
"Sure," Mareep answered as well.
I beamed a smile and got up off of the ground. The others did the same and turned to look at me. I turned my head to look for the city lights and found them in the distance.
"Over there. Ready to go?"
Both pokemon nodded their heads. Together, we started our way towards the lights on the horizon. We rushed by the arid landscape, past sand dunes and other buildings. Though we were under the cover of darkness, we made sure to stick to the shadows of nearby buildings. We kept with this strategy until the buildings stopped at a building with a green roof.
"I believe this leads into the city," I noted out loud. I turned around to Mareep and Litwick who were following behind me.
"Ready to go?"
Both gave a nod and had excited expressions. Together, we stepped into the city.
