Christians POV

It's been years since I've set foot in this town. This is the first time I've been back since — since I became a better person. I'm not going to make the same mistakes that I did eleven years ago. I owe it to my family, to my mum. To Hardin.

I walk up the front door, stopping for a moment to take in the fresh crisp fall air, the noisy streets of the house I once lived. I look up at a window where my bedroom once was. I close my eyes for a second, second guessing my decision to come here. What if they didn't want to see me? What if they still hated me for what I did.

I shake the images from my mind and walk up the last few steps to my childhood home. I raise my closed fist and knock on the door. I can hear the faint sound of footsteps getting closer and closer, and my stomach starts to flip.

The door starts to unlock, and it's opened. Met a face. My mums face. Full of shock and surprise. She lets out a small voice, followed with a smile.

"Christian."

"Hi mum." I smile back at her.
