Hardin's POV
Three weeks. Three weeks I haven't spoken to Christian. It's not that I'm still mad at him, I'm not. I just... I just wasn't ready to talk to him again. Tessa kept in contact with Anastasia. Anastasia tried every time Tessa and her talked to get me to call Christian. I promised I would, but I never picked up the phone. I ignored all of his calls and didn't look at his texts.
My phone screen lights up with another notification from Christian. Yet another attempt to reach out to me. Most of them begging to talk to him, apologizing for his drunken behavior at mine and Tessas wedding.
I decide to look at the text from Christian this time, unlocking my phone screen to get to the message.
I know you're not talking to me, but meet me at Novela Café tonight at six. Please come Hardin.
The text reads.
I set my phone down on the kitchen counter and walk over to the table and sit down. I lean back and put my feet on the other chair, running my fingers through my hair.
Tessa walks into the room and I look up at her.
"What's wrong?" She asks, walking over to me. She leans in and kisses me on the lips.
"Christian just texted me again. He wants me to meet him for dinner tonight." I tell her.
"Are you going to go?" She asks.
"Should I? I mean I can't keep avoiding him I guess." I say.
She nods her head in agreement.
"I think you should go. You haven't spoken to him in a few weeks. I think it's time you settle this once and for all and move on." Tessa says.
"I know. It's at Novela Café. He wants to meet at six." I say.
"Well maybe I'll call Anastasia and see if she wants to get some dinner while you too are out. I could use a girls night." She says.
I get up and walk over to the kitchen counter and pick up my phone. I read the time. It's four thirty.
"I better go and get ready I guess." I sigh. I start to walk towards the bedroom. Tessa stops me, touching my arm. I turn to her, standing right in front of her.
"Hey." She smiles. She pulls me closer to her and places a soft kiss on my lips.
"I'm proud of you. You know that right?" She says.
I smile.
"I know." I say quietly.
"I love you." She says giving me another kiss.
"I love you. I'll always love you." I say back.
I give Tessa one last kiss and head into the bedroom. Three weeks, three weeks I haven't talked to Christian. I don't know if I entirely forgive him for everything, but I also know that I can't avoid him forever. As much as I hate him for what he did, I don't want to lose my brother again. I have to do this.
