Chapter 13

Hardin's POV

Buzz buzz my phone vibrates against the nightstand next to the bed. I shift my body and pull Tessa closer to me. Buzz buzz my phone vibrates again. I open my eyes and grab the phone from the nightstand. I stare at the phone  trying to focus on the screen.

Hardin, going to the lake today. Wanted to see if you wanted to join us. I know it's last minute, just thought it would be fun.

I'm glad we got a chance to talk yesterday, I won't let you down this time. Let me know what you think about the lake today.

I set my phone back on the nightstand and roll over to face Tessa.

"Who was that?" Tessas voice hoarse from sleep.

"Just my brother."

"What did he say?" She's so damn nosey.

"He just invited us to the lake later today." I roll over to face Tessa and prop my head up in my hand. She smiles at me.

"Did you want to go?"

"I would much rather lay here looking at your beautiful face all day." I comb Tessas hair through my fingers.

"Well I think it would be a great way for you and your brother to spend time together and get to know each other." She leans over and kisses my forehead.

I roll my eyes at her.

"That sounds boring if you ask me." I say and grab her by the waist pulling her on top of me.

She lets out a high pitched screech followed by a giggle.

"Hardin." She swats at me.

"Tessa." I mock her playfully.

"What time are we going to the lake?"

"Who said we're going?"

"I did." She says kissing me before getting up.

I groan, throwing my head back on the pillow and pouting.

"Oh stop. It will be fun."

"Your idea of fun is seriously so different from my idea of fun." I say getting up. I walk towards the bathroom, spanking Tessa on the behind before entering. She lets out a squeal and swats at me. I laugh.

Christians POV

I check my phone at the time. It's a quarter past noon. I load the bags onto the boat when I see them.

I give a smile and wave them into the direction to my boat.

They walk up, Hardin with his hands in his pockets and Tessa full of smiles. As always.

"Good to see you again Christian. Thank you so much for inviting us." Tessa says leaning in for a hug.

"Anytime. Anastasia is inside with the kids. I'm just unloading a few more things and I'll be right in."

Tessa smiles and enters the cabin, leaving Hardin and I alone.

"I'm surprised to see you here." I say as I grab a suitcase out of the truck. Hardin grabs another suitcase and follows me to the porch.

"Tessa wanted to come. For some reasons she's taken a liking to your wife."

"Well Anastasia and Tessa seem to have a lot in common." I laugh.

"Yeah. They both are in love with fucked up men." Hardin huffs.

I roll my eyes.

"Well thanks for coming. I'm really happy you came." I pat Hardin on the back. He doesn't move away.

He looks at me with a smile for a moment before looking away, taking a deep breath.

"What do you so around here anyways?"
