over the few months that jaebeom has had the opportunity to live you, he's picked up on a lot of your daily habits. so when you were locked in your room for a few hours, it didn't strike a concern. but then, a few hours turned into multiple hours. you still weren't out of your room and jaebeom was sort of freaking out. however, he refused to just walk into your room, that was your private space and he didn't think he had any business just barging into there.
and although he almost stuck to that mindset for the whole night, his mind just kept telling him something was wrong. his first resort: yugyeom. he always knew where you were. so, when yugyeom told jaebeom he didn't know where you were, jaebeom felt his heart drop. he knocked on your door, then waited, then knocked again.
nothing.
"shit," he mumbled, resting his forehead on the door frame. he called mark, "can you please track her?" he asked, mark nodded, running to his computer to pull up your whereabouts.
it shouldn't have surprised him, but jaebeom was in shock when your phone showed your location right in the middle of seventeen's headquarters. he muttered a few more curses, "everyone get your shit together. we're saving her ass again."
___
you really had to stop blacking out at the worst times. you open your eyes to a bright light, it hurt. "why are you back here?"
"hi, to you too," you reply, rubbing your eyes. you weren't tied to anything—that's a plus...
"why are you here?" they asked again. the voice was oddly soft, even welcoming. you knew the voice, you think for a second.
"chan? is that you?"
"i'm supposed to ask the questions," the male whined. definitely chan. makes sense why you weren't tied up.
"listen, chan. i know you want to prove yourself, i'm in the same boat. so, i'll answer some of your questions," you negotiated, standing up and looking around the room you were in.
it was a bedroom. the blue walls and college dormitory furniture was familiar. and the soccer player posters gave away where you were.
"do the others know i'm here?" you ask, dragging your fingers along the dusty dresser-top. you look over to the youngest and he shakes his head.
"no, they knew someone was in the building. they had no idea who though."
"can i please le—," you started to ask, but chan cut you off.
"i've missed you," he frowns, throwing himself at you. chan always gave the best hugs.
"i know, channie. i've missed my little brother too," you frown, hugging him back. it was hard not being around your family all the time, but it was especially hard when your brother is against you.
he meant well, you know he did. he always had the tendency to fall into the wrong crowds, this crowd just happened to change his entire life and he didn't know how to leave.
"please, just stay. i'll take care of you. no one will find out," he sniffled.
you shake your head, "chan, if you're going to lay one of your crazy plans on me again, make sure it's possible. because, we both know that there is absolutely no way in hell that'll work."
he nods sadly, not meeting eyes with you. chan wasn't a biological brother, step-brother, but when you first met him; it was an instant click. you did everything together, you watched him grow, you helped him grow. to watch him fall into the wrong group— it made you feel like a failure. you're supposed to teach him right from wrong, and now that you fucked that up, you ruined his life forever.
you'd never forgive yourself for it.
