"What have you been doing, Mr Stark?" Fury's voice gets mine and AJ's attention as we look up from where we sat in the lab to see Fury walk in.
"Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you," dad replies back.
"You're supposed to be locating for the Tesseract,"
"We are," Bruce responds, distractedly. "The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile,"
Dad doesn't take his eyes off of Fury, "What is Phase Two?"
A loud bang on a table is heard and we all look to see Steve walk in, dropping a assault rifle on the table.
"Phase Two is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me," Steve says.
Fury quickly tries to explain, "Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're,"
"I'm sorry, Nick," dad interrupts before sliding the screen around to face all of us. "What? Were you lying?"
Steve scowls, "I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit,"
"Did you know about this?" Bruce motions to Natasha.
"Do you want to think about removing yourself from this environment?" Natasha ask.
"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed." Bruce nods, irritatedly.
She slowly steps closer to him, trying to convince him, "Loki's manipulating you."
"And you've been doing what exactly?" Bruce ask.
"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you." Natasha said.
"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction," Bruce says.
Brief pause.
"Because of him," Fury suddenly snaps as he points at Thor.
"Me?"
"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously outgunned." Fury said.
