"WHAT'D YOU DO!?"
Thor bellows with his axe still stuck in Thanos' chest, "What'd you do!?"
Thanos doesn't answer. He doesn't need to. A portal opens behind him and then the titan disappears, leaving only the axe behind.
They failed.
T'CHALLA PAINFULLY HOLDS HIS SIDE, trying to get to Okoye as she lies a few feet away. "Up, General, up!"
He stretches out his hand to her and uses the ground to drag himself over to her, not willing to give in yet. "This is no place to die!"
And then T'Challa's hands turns to dust within her grasp.
Okoye falls back, her eyes widen horrified, all she can do is stare at her empty hand.
GROOT'S DEEP BLACK EYES STARE at Rocket, his little voice so frail and afraid.
"I am Groot...." Dad....
"No, no, no! Groot!" Rocket rushes forward, trying to reach him before it's too late. "No...."
WANDA DOESN'T FIGHT IT.
She doesn't try.
As she hovers over Vision's dead body, she feels the dust climb up her body, so she tilts her head back and she lets death consume her.
SAM LIES A FEW FEET AWAY, struggling to push himself up from the foliage-covered ground. No one sees him. He's alone.
Rhodey looks around for his friend, yelling out, "Sam! Sam, where you at!?"
And.... Sam dies alone.
"STEVE? AJ?"
AJ felt her heart break. No, please, not him. Not her uncle. Please! Not her uncle! Not her Uncle Bucky!
Steve quickly turns to his best friend, "Buck?"
Bucky Barnes takes one step towards his best friend and honorary niece, he slowly falls forward, and, then, before he can even hit the ground, his body becomes nothing.
