"Come to confess your sins?" Ultron smirks.

"I don't know, how much time you got?" Dad clips back.

"More than you," a loud foot crunches the onto the ground, making both of us spin to watch as Ultron's suddenly so much larger metal body towers over us.

"Eh, have you been juicing? Little vibranium?" Dad asks. "I don't wanna say puffy,"

"You're stalling to protect the people," Ultron says.

"Well, that is the mission. Did you forget?"

"I've moved beyond your mission. I'm free," Ultron says.

A large metal contraption bursts out of the nearby platform. It spins up through the concrete and its metal talons crush the surrounding ground as they smack down on the ground to set it into place.

"What? You two think you were the only one stalling?" Ultron asks mockingly.

I stare down at the thing as C.A.S.S informs me, "There's the rest of the vibranium," white spirals circle the metal contraption jutting out of the ground.

"Function: still unclear,"

"This is how you end, Starks,"

"Nothing will be left when I come,"

Oh god, not now. Don't think about it.

"This is peace in my time,"

Suddenly loud crashing and screaming erupt from within the city. That's when the fight begins. Legionnaires either fly or come out of the ground, and I'm blasting every one of them. The fight's tough and it's only getting tougher by the minute, but I'm not backing down anytime soon.

As the fight continues, a long crack begins to circle around the city, creating a huge pit that buildings, cars, and bridges groan and slip deep down into. People scream from all around me.

"FRIDAY?" Dad asks.

"Sokovia is going for a ride," FRIDAY tells dad.

"Do you see," I watch as Ultron begins to rise above all of us, "the beauty of it? The inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meter. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack with the weight of your failure,"

"Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world...will be metal,"

A world made out of metal. That's his idea of peace? Oh, brother.

The fight just keeps going and the metal just keeps coming. I just don't see an end to this. Not an end that ends well. Soon everyone stood together around the center of a building as a familiar body comes into view.

Thor throws out his arms out to him, stepping closer with an enraged yell, "Is that the best you could do?"

The robot merely raises up his left hand and legionnaires begin flooding towards by the dozens lying around in the air and running across the ground.

"You had to ask," Steve says.

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me," Ultron says. "How can you possibly hope to stop me?"

"Well," dad speaks up. "Like the old man said: together,"

The Hulk lets out a loud bellow and then we are surrounded by every angle. Utter chaos breaks out then as the legionnaires dives for us as we do everything within our power to protect the core. We all fought as a team to protect the core.

The fight continues for what felt like hours and hours. And once we got everyone on aboard the boats and got ourselves onboard too, lightning cracks through the city and we watch as it completely shatters. Chucks of earth explode in every direction over the sea that waits below, creating massive waves as the land drops in it. In the end, we won.

We won, like always.

But if we won.

Why does it feel like it came with a cost?
