Mercedes looks at her clock and picks up her phone to dial a number. "Hey?"

"What's up, Mercy?" Mal's voice comes down the line.

"Are you at home?"

"Yeah. I'm doing homework."

"Can you take Marcy somewhere?"

"Where?"

"I don't know." She shrugs.

"How do you not know? She won't tell you?"

"No, no. She doesn't know I'm calling you. She's not even home yet."

"Mercy, what's going on?"

She sighs. "You know she's been through a lot lately. I think she needs to get out of the house. With you and Ellen. Especially after what happened at school today."

He's quiet for a minute. "When will she be home?"

"Soccer practice just ended."

"I'll walk around there."

"Okay. See you soon." Mercedes hangs up and turns back to her homework. Ten minutes later, Mal knocks on her door. "You're here!"

"Yeah. I just checked on the twins. They're sleeping."

"Marionette must have just put them down. Or at least since I've been up here."

"How long have you been up here?"

"Since glee rehearsals finished."

"I see you're out of your uniform."

She looks down at her big shirt and leggings. "I might have to wear that thing everyday but not all day. I'm wearing my clothes as soon as I get home."

He smirks. "What's wrong? You don't like looking like a robot?"

She throws a pillow at him and he closes the door as he laughs. "I can't stand you!"

He opens the door again. "You love me!"

"I can't tell!"

He's about to respond when the front door opens. "Marcy's here."

"I'm glad! Have her be bothered with you!"

"Aww, Mercy! You're going to hurt my feelings!"

"You don't have feelings!"

"I'm not her." He hooks a thumb outside the door. He bends over as he's hit in the stomach. "Ugh!"

"Hi, Marcy!" Mercedes yells.

"Hey." Marcy goes to her room.

Mercedes gets out of her bed and pushes Mal out of the way to follow her sister. "How was soccer?"

"Whatever." Marcy puts away her things from the day.

"The twins are asleep."

"I see."

"Are you hungry?"

"No."

Mercedes frowns. "C'mon! Talk to me!"

Marcy twirls and stares hard at her before turning around again.

Mercedes grimaces. "I guess I'll go back to my homework."

Mal closes the door behind her. "Way harsh, Marce."

"Get out." Marcy goes to her closet.

Mal hops onto her bed and lays back. "You can't drive me away."

It's quiet until Marcy comes back. "I can only try."

"Come on. Let's get Ellen and go somewhere."

"No." She's by her desk.
