When Sonic is about to teach Link how to use the Z crystal in battle they heard some numerous stuff going on at the Rustboro school.
"Out of my way!" Team Snake grunts said angrily rushing out of the door then running the paths of Rustboro City and headed to Rusturf tunnel for their hiding place.
When they see this stuff going on there they see Tails and Knuckles walking up to Sonic and Link for their report about it.
"What's going on out their?" Sonic said to Tails and Knuckles telling what's going on.
"Sonic. Team Snake grunts wants to put our poke'mon to peril." Tails said to Sonic worrying.
"If we don't catch them then their mission will be completed forever." Knuckles said to Sonic angrily about what they did to Team Snake grunt.
"Okay then. Investigate the routes. Then talk to me when you guys found them." Sonic said to them asking to search for them and catch them.
"Well... It seems that we need to teach you how to use the Z crystals in battle later. Just search the routes okay." Sonic said to Link asking him search the routes first then train how to use the Z crystals in battle.
"Right!" Link replied to Sonic.
The Sonic team investigates the upper route while Link investigates the east exit of Rustboro City.
