He encounters a trainer named Marty and fights him while he is walking on the east route.
"C'mon trainer! Let's battle!" Marty said.
"Oh Yeah! I want to battle too." Link replied wanting him to battle.
"Timburr! I choose you!" Marty said senting out a Timburr.
"Go! Pidgey!" Link said senting out a Pidgey.
"Use! Gust!" Link shouted.
"Timburr! Use Pound Attack!" Marty shouted back.
The attack of Timburr failed because the Gust hit Timburr fast in a critical hit.
"Use Gust again!" Link shouted with the same move.
"Timburr throw a rock on Pidgey!" Marty shouted back.
Pidgey's gust blew the rock and it sent back to Timburr so Timburr took damage and it's almost fainting.
"Timburr get up!" Marty said to Timburr trying to get up.
While Timburr is trying to get up. Link commands another move to finish it.
"Use Gust to finish it off!" Link shouted with the finishing and the same move.
Pidgey sends the wind of Gust to Timburr and took major damage and then fainted.
Link's poke'mon gained experience points. Pidgey grew to lv.11, Purrloin grew to lv.12 Purrloin wants to learn a new move fury swipes but it is full of move sets so Link confirms that scratch should be removed and replace it with a new move named Fury Swipes. Grubbin grew to lv.11.
"Timburr! Return!" Marty said to Timburr returning to a poke'ball.
"Chikorita! I choose you!" Marty said senting out a Chikorita.
"Well that looks easy to me. Okay Pidgey! Use Gust!" Link said that it is easy to defeat that poke'mon then shouted as a command of an attack.
"Use Poison Powder!" Marty shouted back.
The attack of Chikorita failed because the Gust was too fast and there is no way to cancel that move unless Chikorita makes an attack quickly. But as a result Chikorita took damage.
"Use Gust! One more time!" Link shouted once more with the same move.
"Use Tackle!" Marty shouted back.
Pidgey sends Gust to Chirokita and took damage in a critical hit and then Chikorita fainted.
Link's poke'mon gained experience points.
Link defeated the Youngster Marty.
"I have to train hard in order to make my Poke'mon strong." Marty said that he has to train more in order to make his poke'mon strong.
Link received $50 for winning.
Link continues his stroll and he was surprised by another trainer.
"Hey trainer! Can me and my Marill battle you." Janice said to Link asking him that she wants to battle him.
"Yeah! Sure!" Link replied accepting her challenge.
"Well in that case... Marill! Go!" Jancie said senting out a Marill
"Grubbin! Come on out!" Link said senting out a Grubbin.
"Use String Shot!" Link shouted.
"Look out! Marill!" Janice shouted back known word as dodge it.
Marill got caught on the String Shot that Grubbin made and it is trying to get free. And now Link commands Grubbin an attack.
"Use Bite!" Link shouted.
