Riley's POV

What a wimp.
"For the last time, Connor, I'm not gonna let a little zombie get you." I spoke in a babyish voice, he groaned. "But what if you get hurt?" He questioned. "Well then I'll deal with it. My god. Its your fault for following us girls into this corn field. Now be a man and fucking sleep already so I don't have to deal with your whining." I demanded. He didn't argue this time. Good.
He closed his eyes and rolled over, finally falling asleep. I flashed my flash light around the field, checking one last time. I pulled out my knife and began to sharpen it, I heard a crunching sound come from behind me. Before turning to see what it was I took a fast check to see if everyone was here, I noticed that Erin wasn't. A huge burst of relief hit me when I noticed it was just her, "Just checking a bit further out." She stated quietly. I nodded as she took a seat on the damp ground, "So. What do you think of the boys following us?" She asked. I didn't know how to reply, truth is.. I was kinda happy. It was nice to be around people who weren't trying to eat our flesh, "I don't know.." My voice trailed off, "Well obviously your pretty happy that Connor came along. You like him." She blurted out, "what the fuck?" I laughed. She laughed a bit, "its true. Isn't it?" She asked, honestly... It kinda was. He seemed really sweet, there was something about him that attracted me towards him, other then the fact that he had the guts of a guppy. "Well.. I don't know." I felt my cheeks grow a bit red, its a good thing it was dark out.
"Just don't let him get in the way of survival. That's all that matters." She told me nicely, "I won't.. Don't worry about me. I think you have other problems to deal with, cough cough Sam." I laughed a bit. She hit my arm playfully, "Shut up!" I laughed more, soon joined by my sister. "He isn't getting anywhere near me." She spoke with a laugh. I rolled my eyes, "I bet you that you'll fall for him eventually." I told her, a grin appearing on my lips. "Whatever. Why don't you get some sleep? I can take it from here." She asked me sweetly, I sighed. "Ok.. Night." I replied, she nodded. I layed on the cold ground, soon falling asleep.

I woke up the next morning, a lot warmer then I was last night before falling asleep. I jump when I realize I'm laying with Connor. Shit! His arm was wrapped around and my head was on his chest, I bolt up. His eyes flutter open, "You ok?" "Why the hell were we laying together?!" I asked desperate to know the answer. "Before Erin and Paisley switched, Erin told me that you were cold so I thought you would want to be warm...." He answered shyly. I signed quietly, "thanks." I replied a lot calmer then before.
He smiled at me which caused me to smile back. "Morning." Jordyns voice filled my ears. "Oh um. Good morning." I told her, why was I all awkward now? I can't let him get in the way of my survival. No. I can't be stupid. "You alright?" Paisley asked, "Y-yes." I answered quickly.
Soon everyone awoke and we began on our little adventure once again. "So..." Erin caught up with me, "bitch." I replied. "You were cold! I didn't want you to get sick or something! Besides... I also want you to be happy... And I know that Connor can make you happy... Just give it a chance.. Forget what I said about survival and shit. Take a risk and go for it." She explained to me, I was shocked. This was the first time she had ever told me something like that, she smiled at me reassuringly and I smiled back. "Maybe." I told her, she rolled her eyes and then went back to walking with Sam. "Hey!" Connor now started walking back with me, "h-hi." I replied. This fucking sucks, I'm falling for him. Shit.
